🥳 Kitten API version 1 is now live!
This has been the culmination of seven years of work and a “two-week” breaking change branch that turned into seven-months.
There’s too much to list in a single post but Kitten today is a very different beast to Kitten in April.
Highlights:
• Automatic updates with rollback even across API versions (breaking changes)
• New stateful Kitten Components API
• TypeScript support (and Kitten is now itself written in TypeScript)
• Improved cryptographic properties with the use of non-extractable keys via the Web Crypto API and XChaCha20-Poly1305 instead of AES-GCM for encryption
• Consistent event handling and emitting methods across the page, session, and global scopes
• Considerably increased test coverage across the unit, regression, and end-to-end tests
• Lots of hardening and security fixes

This is the first of the triplets to be born. Hopefully Catalyst and Meow and will be following soon. Kitten is the foundation so the better it gets, the better anything built with it gets.
