@anon_opin while your way is obviously the more efficient way, if everyone else has decided to line up, doesn't it make you the asshole because you insist on doing it *the right way* instead of going with the flow?
@alisynthesis @anon_opin no. I'm in full agreement with OP here. If there are multiple lanes, and there is a sudden queue because of road works or whatever, then you are obliged to take the least filled lane to make the line as short as possible.
Otherwise the queue will just grow and start spilling over into adjacent roads.

im stepping back and trying to figure out how the fuck to even approach the claims that getting faster at improving on internal benchmarks is dangerous because of the p(foom), it probably isn't worth trying. but i will say that the timing of this report given anthropic's flop-ass prospectus makes even clearer than it already was that, though i do think that METR are truly cooked enough to fully believe that they are intervening, their primary actual function is as anthropic's PR wing

I think its funny when someone doesn’t disclose it’s an ai project they get hella upvotes
The entire description reads like it was written by a LLM. Fediverse users have a decent nose for generated images, so I’m surprised this generated language flew under the radar.
That said, I can’t fault OP for using AI to build a thing they wanted to build. The plagerism machine is real, but it’s hard to tell people not to use it. Even more so when it’s being used to create something that wouldn’t have existed otherwise (ie it’s not replacing anyone’s job).
