...but it segfaults as soon as you try to create a new file, so I guess I now need to find out how to report bugs against pkgsrc?
Funny, you can run Ted new.rtf, and it will ask to create an empty file and open the edit window, but when you select File -> New from the menu, it crashes.
Finished reading Watership Down. I can finally watch the movie.
@annika was so surprised on my second read to realize how in-conversation with The Lord of the Rings it was
@neil hey is this set up so we can order our own shirts with this design by chance?
@scott No, it is just something I had made, with a very basic design!
In a Fox News interview, Trump said the U.S. will stop giving Israel weapons for free because Abdul El-Sayed keeps talking about it. https://theintercept.com/2026/11/03/trump-us-military-aid-israel-el-sayed
@theintercept Wut?
HA! This is hilarious, a ham radio operator heard bank robbers talking to each other on walkie talkies, tried to report it, and the cops didn't believe it.
(the bank robbers eventually caught)
(apparently a real thing, and a movie)

Tonight is comfort food night. Even though I know we won’t know the results and that Trump and the Republicans will not accept the voters’ wishes and will try to bully and litigate and cheat their way to holding on to power.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the officials and volunteers who are working hard and against these headwinds and anti-American tactics to ensure that every vote is counted. #USPol #midterms
Das ist euer halbwegs regelmäßiger zahnputz und zahnseidel Alarm!
@Goettinderjagd erledigt! Hast du schon ein backup gemacht? 🤡 🤣

Is there a way to not see duplicate of the same topic across different communities?
Hi everyone!
I’m really enjoying the Fediverse through Lemmy and Peertube.
Two creators I enjoy and follow on the Fediverse are Dash and Gardiner Bryant (both work on The Bryant Review) as their content is really enjoyable.
Sadly they are the target of my post as they shares their content on many different communities that I follow.
Today I had 5 times the same topic on RetroDeck (great project too) on my feed on Lemmy (Voyager).
It is the same on PieFed (Interstellar).
This is really annoying and I haven’t found a way to not show these duplicates. Do you know about one or is it worked on?
Also when crossposting, it would be great if everything appeared under on post. Is it feasible?
Sorry if it’s easy and I just missed it. In a way I hope it is because it would mean that the Fediverse is festure rich😇
Edit: Added Dash as she was in fact the one who published the article. Also it appears that the issue is only on mobile apps since both the browser of Lemmy and PieFed don’t have it.
Edit 2: Using the Progressive Web App of PieFed seems to have solved the issue for me

@encephalophone I early-farted a week ago.
macOS 27.3 renders Markdown files in QuickLook previews 👌🏻
@_inside How long until TextEdit defaults to Markdown instead of RTF, I wonder?

You’re not alone in this wish, though I’m sure that doesn’t surprise you. I sort of accepted it as just part of how a federated reddit-style forum would work, but if there’s a way to address it, that would be very cool.
@majorlinux Good stuff! Did you attend this summit? What way forward did they outline? It isn't clear to me from their website.
@ComradeSerena Unfortunately, I didn’t.
