Oops. Looks like the 4GB SD card in my very first RasPi1 died while trying to install NetBSD 11?
Oh, yeah, sure - 256MB RAM only, I forgot. That makes it even less useful than I thought.
Not sure why I'm spending time with NetBSD on likely the slowest "modern" hardware I have around? Anyway, for some reason sysinst doesn't ask for a keyboard language in the RPi image, so had to do that myself...
Let's see what else I can install - NetSurf is good enough to browse NetBSD docs and post to Mastodon via Bloat, at least - see the other thread about that. Somehow I'm unreasonably happy with this frontend right now?
Ted would probably be a good candidate here (see https://mastodon.infra.de/@galaxis/107395341206985513) - I see the home page that was referenced back in 2021 is now offline, but sources (and ancient binary builds) are still available at https://ftp.nluug.nl/pub/editors/ted/
Heh, don't even need to bother building it, since it's already available via pkgin...
This Ted is built against motif...
...and it can load and display the help file in all its glory...
...but it segfaults as soon as you try to create a new file, so I guess I now need to find out how to report bugs against pkgsrc?
Well, I guess swapping will kill this new SD card pretty quickly, even if I'm only using like 5% out of the 64GB currently...
Don't use NetSurf and pkgin at the same time on 256MB RAM ;)
Now with fresh SD card (kinda unhinged, but the supermarket only had 64GB)...
Desk full with ARM stuff of varying usefulness - RPi400, GLKVM, RPi 1...
I mean, I could connect the RPi 1 directly to the screen instead of indirectly remote controlling it, but then I'd have to dig out a keyboard and different cables...
