Wow, this RNZ interview with Sophie Winkleman (Lady Frederick Windsor) is explaining why 'EdTech' is a horrible idea is absolute fire. We need this to be promoted everywhere! So good. Will post a link to the podcast.

if Delcy Rodríguez betrayed Maduro, and gave away most of the country’s riches to the #petromafia, ―giving away #Venezuela’s #sovereignty with her banana republicanism― is María Corina really an opposition leader? or is the opposition the one who licks the #gringolarchy boot the least?
@blogdiva She’s as much opposition as the Democrats are to the Republicans.

Niki doesn’t have to be fooled–these are likely just words.
She doesn’t have citizenship, her borther is in jail(?) for something like sexual assault, and I think her husband is a pedo.
Like so many surrounding Trump she is likely just waiting to get something out if the arrangement.
Not to say that she will…

Terry Pratchett had a vampire character who was so fascinated by light he developed flash photography
Every time he took a photo he'd turn to dust
He solved that problem by carrying a small glass vial of blood on a chain round his neck which would break & revivify him should he become inconveniently endusted

All day, everyday.
@Tedre123 yeah, I agree. In Pittsburgh they turned a closed church into a restaurant/brewery and it is amazing
@AbandonedAmerica not as many are going to church, but plenty are still drinking beer, so lots of potential here.

Fediverse
this has nothing to do with the fediverse
I'll get back to folks tomorrow. I'm done for today. Early bedtime. I have an MRI hospital appointment tomorrow morning at 6am(for me & not my Mom). I'll be getting up just before 5am.
And no you should not bully people, but billionaires are not really people
They're more like a parasitic dense sticky glue like substance
@stux They're people. Just really crappy people. And they consider bullying other people completely OK, so why should we exempt them from their own policies?

The more I study history the further left I drift.
(And I study a lot of history.)
If you are in the UK, and feel comfortable sharing, how much "credit" (interest-free loans) have your energy supplier built up from you?
@slowe
Up to £500, then I get a refund and bring it down to a £200ish and make an extra manual payment over winter if it gets too low they start suggesting a DD increase.
We're one person less in the house this winter so I suspect I won't need the top up this year
Sometimes, in the aftermath of a tragedy, a reporter or an officiant will make a point of reading the names of the victims. I've thought, rationally, this is right & proper.
I write a newsletter for a non-profit and we realized that since a few military and ex-military people belong to the group, a few words recognizing the CFB Wainwright tragedy would be appropriate.
I found photos of the four service members who died at Wainright and wrote a few words expressing the group's gratitude for the membership of our military personnel.
I gotta tell you, naming the four while composing their photos left me stunned and horribly sad.
More than rationally appreciating the naming of the dead, I now more fully get it.
