We are aware of servers that have disabled uploads are getting suspicious user registrations, likely to test the php vulnerability.
Please shut down your server until you can patch PHP later today.
The one funny thing about this PHP bug is that now you know that every service announcing maintenance runs their core infra on PHP ^^;;
@lina ngl, it can often be deduced with the age of the service xD
@llamasoft_ox will this play on a steam machine I wonder? Polybius runs really well on one.
@mjohnsullivan I would think it ought to run on the Machine, given that it runs native on Frame.

@neil That's great! Now give me a way of reliably getting the parking place outside my house so I can use it.
"What's it like to work in IT security?"
Minkälainen paniikki teillä on tän suhteen? Viittaan siis siihen php hommaan enkä siihen privatekey 4 hommaan.
Jos sopii kysyä.
@husku Paniikki: on. Kisastudio käynnissä ja tehdään voitavamme, mutta näin yleisesti voi vain pelätä pahinta ja toivoa parasta ennen kuin korjauspaketti tulee.

Every time there's a new study on the negative impact of LLM tools on education, work, communications, and media, at least half the commentariat will always go "but you shouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater, 'AI' has constructive uses!" even as they pretend to be 'critics'.
How bad do the effects have to get before they finally go "okay, yeah, maybe it is more bad than good"?
@baldur to that I always respond "DDT also 'worked', asbestos also 'worked', single-use plastics also 'worked'"
LLMs are bad even if they "work", but eventhat is still disputed.

@llamasoft_ox @Angelo Is there any section where internationally you have to create crashes ?? 🙂
@gilesgoat @Angelo well you can smash into the other racers to cause them to crash, and certain powerups give you a speed boost or some other benefit when you do. And it has that classic "takedown cam" view where you get to see them crash in slow motion.
They can do the same to you of course!
It doesn't have the 'crash junction' stuff from Burnout but you can see Burnout DNA all over it nonetheless.
@rolle I have not so high skills in programming, so I've given up with a platform which does not listen to me. Mullenweg's intentions are clear: separate accessibility from the rest, through a plugin, maybe a paid plugin.
@elettrona I understand. Although WordPress, like Mastodon, is not "owned" by anyone, per se. It's not Matt's platform. But I understand. Many have moved to other platforms because of Matt's actions.
"CVE-2026-99999" is the fakest sounding CVE name. That is like Hideo Kojima or Kotaro Uchikoshi had just learned what a "CVE" is and decided to write a plot point about a macguffin mega-CVE that is going to cause enormous problems for the protagonists
@mcc It's the King of Fighters CVE

@fraggle @mcc Linux CVE descriptions are generated directly from the commitmsg. https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git/commit/?id=0fab003ef4698e0628060a45a48f14b43ba2a40a
