Today's mail brought new crowdfunded non-volatile storage media to our household.
@Rob_T_Firefly I’ve never been so excited to be at the end of an arrow, I tellyawhut.

Looking for LLM-free alternatives to texlive.
I want to render embedded LaTeX in Markdown and Org Mode documents.
I'm also considering making a literate programming IDE and want LaTeX support.
All dependencies of this software also need to reject LLMs. MiKTeX appears to depend on Harfbuzz but maybe that's unavoidable.
A really interesting win is Scott Colom in Mississippi who ended up winning his race.
Earlier this week he was ALREADY complaining about DNC leadership choices.
He grew up with a family of lawyers and polticians and I think he's got some of the smartest approaches to widening the democrats big tent so it STICKs in the South.
I've been reviewing Scott Colom's ad campaign today and I'm VERY impressed with his range. He really nails both high end high production ads

For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.
How many hot-flavored compounds are there? At least five!

@clacke Don’t forget the synergies with pyrazines that can amplify “the heat” and add their own nuttiness & umami components.
