Ah yes my daily routine of deleting sloperating systems from the @osnews submission queue.
A slop Haiku fork? Do you people have any idea how deeply offensive that is to someone like me, who was there when BeOS was an actual thing? Who used it as his main operating system? Who runs a website made great by a former BeNews editor, who also happens to be married to a Be engineer?
Fuck you. Fuck you so hard.
@thomholwerda @osnews (eyes glow red) oh. that's something huh, BeOS sludge, yeah....

I often wonder what would have happened if General Grant had not personally stopped Robert E. Lee's treason trial. A Norfolk grand jury indicted Lee in June 1865. Grant stopped it.
Lee went on to run a college that raped Black schoolgirls, attacked the Freedmen's school, and tried to lynch a Black man. The Freedmen's Bureau documented it. Lee ran it.
Then every Lee statue, erected mostly in the early 1900s as "America First", symbolized this record of rape and lynching. Unveilings came with speeches like Julian Carr's at UNC in 1913, boasting of whipping a Black woman until her skirt shredded. A 2021 PNAS study proved Confederate monuments are the counties with the most lynchings.
It's clear why Lee should have hanged in 1865.
Americans should have no illusions about the history when they ask why so few Black women reached office, let alone survived. And specifically should be taught why "moving on" instead of punishing white supremacists resulted in widespread domestic terrorism.

@pfefferle is so awesome. Almost every time I build a feature for a companion plugin of the #WordPress ActivityPub plugin and think “hmm, a hook or filter here would be helpful”, I discover he already anticipated it and added one.
Tu connais la différence entre les Témoins de Jéhovah et une Lada ?
@lienrag Les temoins de Jéhovah, tu mes demandes pas mais tu les reçois quand-même, la Lada, tu la demandes mais tu l'a reçois jamais ? 🤔
They told me he was a burly man, but the whole time I was with him, he didn't burl even once.

@gamingonlinux CONTROLLER SUPPORT FINALLY!
GF and I talked about sex fantasies. I said I wanted to fool around w/sisters and asked her to invite her sister over. She said yes as long as we do it w/my brother first. Pretty sure she was making a point about how hideous my idea was, but I can barely look at my brother now.
@fesshole I wonder is the subtext here that OP was so horny for the sister that they went ahead with threesome with the brother and only now, in the aftermath, sees the idea as hideous?

Hi from normals.me. If you can read this, the federation works
This post is written on https://normals.me and delivered to !fediverse@lemmy.world over #ActivityPub, so if you are reading it the basic plumbing works. Now let me explain what is this.
Normals is a forum with communities, threads, and questions with an accepted answer. It is a single instance, not software you can host, and the core is closed for anti-abuse reasons. The federation module will be published separately with implementation notes (FEP-67ff).
What federates today Every community is a Group actor following the Lemmy model (FEP-1b12). Follow @selfhosted@normals.me or any other community from Lemmy, PieFed, Mbin or Mastodon.
Posts and comments go both ways. Replies from your instance appear in the thread on Normals, replies from Normals go back to the origin.
Remote content is labelled with its origin, links back to it, and is never copied. Media loads from the source.
Signed fetches, so it works with instances that require authorized fetch. NodeInfo 2.1 is up.
Policies, in case they matter to you, it has no ads, and no paid reach, and of course no AI training on posts. AI crawlers blocked by default, public mod log with reasons, and no automated removals. Numbers at https://normals.me/transparency so please take a look.
If something from your instance shows up wrong here, or something from here shows up wrong on yours, reply with the URL and I'll fix it. Andy Piper mentioned NodeBB uses the same group model, if anyone runs a NodeBB instance I'd like to test against it, if possible.
I hope we all have fun. Cheers!

I tried downloading #Signal a while ago, but ultimately it had the same problem that every other chat/messaging app has, which is that I am not a chatty person, and I don’t talk to people
I used to work as a clairvoyant and fortune reader. But I got bored with how incredibly easy it was to mislead and bullshit everyone. So now I mislead and bullshit everyone from my insurance marketing job instead.
@fesshole Insurance and fortune teller‽ Talk about working both ends of the system.
