@RachelThornSub It is, sadly, wild in all senses, and rampant. And 'cat lovers' are seen as a 'sacred cow' block politically. Don't get wrong - cats are stunning animals and I admire them and their evolution hugely. I just think humans made a grave error (one of countless) including them in the colonisation process. And yeah, as in AU, they should be required to be constrained to their owner's property & inside at night. That's everyone's expectations of dog owners.
Yesterday, voters made it very clear that they want a new generation of Democratic fighters.
We need a leader in the Senate who is capable of leading that fight.

Right now there is a concerted campaign by Schumer and his allies in the media to make you think he is the inevitable Majority Leader.
Don't believe anything you read.

@glyph It's possible we should be thinking hard about trying to figure out what glitch in executive brains briefly allowed Bell Labs to exist. Was it the three-martini lunch? were c-suites just so fucking blitzed out of their minds they forgot to do a class war for a while there? is the trick to somehow get C*Os off of cocaine and back on alcohol? stimulants are the problem. depressants are the answer

Never realized that the rhythm and sometimes the notes of the same lines of different verses of the same song vary, until I tried to put them to sheet music. Exactly the same meter, exactly the same syllable count, just due to short and long syllables in the specific words.
@futzle yeah and sometimes very slight/subtle changes in rhythm can lead to a huge impact on phrasing! It's a thing I've been focusing a lot on lately with my music.

and not having a federal disability determination prevents me from making use of the various programs for getting in-home support, like they don't even let me pay out of pocket for it, I just Cannot Get It. and my alternatives are paying for vastly overpriced cleaning services or Taskrabbit or whatever.
and there is no service around here where someone will drive me to Costco and help me shop under my own direction, the closest is shit like Instacart where it's just shitty expensive delivery.
There are a few one-time-help programs I've taken advantage of and that have been somewhat helpful, but they don't handle any of my daily, ongoing needs, they've just helped me reduce my energy bills a little bit and the like.
like the things that would help me the most are
• household cleaning/organization
• travel help with grocery shopping and socializing
• help with meal prep with my dietary restrictions when I'm super low on spoons
and none of the services I've found do those things
