@sereeena wait no you're the coolest the second one doesn't make sense

@Holberg Yeah, I'm also blessed with a does-not-care stomach. Once showed up for breakfast on a passenger liner going up along China's coast during a typhoon. I was the only one asking for food that morning. 😂

Winds out of the south may gusts as high as 50-60 mph on the Tillamook, Clatsop, and Pacific County coast between 3 PM and 11 PM today (Nov 7). Take actions to prepare for possible downed trees and limbs as well as isolated power outages.

@gerg @LabSpokane "There's no need to be upset" Let me explain something: fuck you.

Data center regulation itself was not on most midterm ballots, and it wasn't among the top issues for most voters. But hard-line stances against the server warehouses were woven into the platforms of many candidates.

@rmi What can I say but *yikes*

@babble_endanger @0xabad1dea I wanted to double-check this one for myself, because it's almost cartoonishly bad.

And sadly, the answer is yes: The school in the motorway onramp is real.

And when you look at the school's website, almost every student is Black: https://daytonsmartelementary.org/

I'm taking my time with the vocals on the reworked 2013 song currently on my workbench. Today I seemed to be in good voice and recorded all the parts well, I thought.

And then I took my headphones off and realised I'd not muted the monitors when I started. Sure, the recorded parts are well sung, but there's so much backing music on the tracks I'll have to scrap them and start again.

I went for a long walk and I'll come back to this tomorrow.

If you want a good example of causation vs. correlation, I have this recurring thing where I'll say something awkward and then another person randomly happens to appear and they overhear it, but it's not because they happened to be around at the very specific time when I said something awkward and instead because I’m constantly saying awkward things, so it's inevitable that someone will eventually overhear it.

I've been carrying around an idea for a federated code forge for a while. Two things sharpened it recently: Tangled's post on the federated code forge, which builds a forge on the AT Protocol, and a Jujutsu workshop (Korean) by Seongmin Lee (@boltless.me), who works at Tangled, held at @turingappledev.

My version would build on ForgeFed, the #ActivityPub protocol for code forges (spec), so that repositories, issues and merge requests federate the way posts already do. The idea is early enough that I haven't even come up with a codename. What I want from it, roughly:

• Git and Jujutsu (so-called jj) as equal clients. Not Git hosting with Jujutsu support bolted on, but a forge that understands both, so what Jujutsu is actually good at, stacked changes, becomes a first-class unit of review instead of a pile of separate pull requests.
• No owner layer. Since the point is federation, one instance represents one person or one organization, permissions are managed per server, and a repository lives at forge.example/myrepo instead of forge.example/owner/myrepo.
• A migration path off GitHub that keeps the history. Importing the code is easy; importing the issues, pull requests and discussions with their original authors attached is the part that matters. I'd keep a placeholder for each GitHub account and let whoever owns that account prove it, after which the instance swaps in their fediverse actor, so attribution carries over. How to express that claim in ActivityPub is the part I haven't figured out. It may need a new FEP.

Where this stands: I haven't read the whole #ForgeFed spec, Fedify doesn't ship the vocabulary yet (fedify-dev/fedify#751), and I have too much else going on to start soon. If you've run a forge or implemented ForgeFed, I'd like to hear whether any of this makes sense.

I’m sick of Democrats operating out of fear. It’s time to grow some balls and go on the offensive. Make them back peddle.

The #news #media is claiming that #schumer engineered the blue wave somehow. I didn't see him doing Jack-all.... If anything, he prevented the wave from being bigger by refusing to fund the South, and we could have won FL and LA too. All he did was not stop the enemy from being stupid. He has been completely worthless, yet the media keeps trying to claim that he is why the Dems won. People still don't like the dems, they just REALLY hated the republicans, and now Schumer is showing up to the party and taking credit for everything and thinking the party we are celebrating is for him.
