UPDATE: The fix turned out to be to simply remove "-cpu host" from my invocation. "-cpu host" appears to be banned on Windows, but omitting -cpu entirely is allowed.
I think what I"m suppsoed to do here is figure out which of a hundred or so x86_64 micro variations I have, like there's some specific string that corresponds to the exact i5 I have, you can get a list of the strings by running `qemu -cpu help` but I don't know how to figure out which one is correct
But it lets me say nothing. OK
@mcc -cpu host passes through the host's CPU identification which is not implemented on x86 windows (though it is on ARM). -cpu max provides emulated CPU info with all available features, it was broken on windows but should've been fixed in the latest qemu release

Preach.
So many things I know, which I wish I could forget or never have learned. sigh

@mpjgregoire @Crell @ThisCJ Note: Tory seats got ~56K votes.
@timbray
The other way of looking at it is that, in each of those elections, the residents of each riding were represented by the MP who was most acceptable to the citizens of that riding [0].
Do we want a Parliament where the fundamental element is the MP or the party? I think we've already swung too far towards the latter.
[0] In some cases, to be sure, a preferential system like RCV would have selected a different MP.
@Bronwyn arizona’s recent ballot initiatives were similar the double negatives and strange language made it so that at least two people I know voted for the wrong thing
@s0x0 I hate the people who write these things
Zionism is a colonial, genocidal, ideology and the European authorities bend knees on that. Another story of support of #genocide.
"#Antwerp #police stopped him because he was alleged to have driven through the Jewish quarter in his motorhome, which bears the slogan ‘#FreePalestine’, repeatedly.
Arrested and motorhome seized
According to the police, this constituted a provocation and a disturbance of public order. Almaani and his three cousins were taken into administrative custody and had to spend a night in a cell. The motorhome was seized."

@glyph I do want to stress I have never used, and have never before this moment attempted to read the source of, Twisted (sorry) (I can't imagine what it could do that fits my needs better than Flask— if I ever did something that required more complexity than Flask offers, I'd use Rocket), so I'm not looking for the information myself. I'm just looking at the repo this second with (legitimately) fresh eyes and checking my "idiot in a hurry" sense (and as mentioned I am in a hurry)
@mcc No need to apologize. Twisted is not a thing that would compete with Flask anyway; if you need to run a DNS server or an SSH server, Flask isn't going to do it for you. Twisted _does_ have a flask-alike (Klein), but uh, I would absolutely not recommend checking it out unless you're already deep in the Twisted ecosystem, I'm like 5 years late on doing a release that even handles authentication or sessions properly
@mcc Luckily that file is empty and must remain empty (it is a directory marker) so the commit message *should* never change… ;). But your point is well taken.
@glyph Well, but this raises another issue: Sometimes I am looking at the directory structure in bash and "git log this file then type uppercase G to see what its purpose is" never occurred to me as a smart idea until this second.
You can't comment a file, but if there's an "obvious" place that explains where files are, and I see it once, then the next time I see a mystery file I'll look it up.
Having now looked up the price, the answer should probably be hell no. 🙁
Will I accept that answer?
Outlook uncertain...
I don't even have a Switch 1 anymore. Sold it due to lack of play and needing some money at the time. We'd play this Zelda game and then it'd probably sit until maybe the next Zelda game.
So on the one hand.... that'd be dumb. I mean, truth is, no one in the house really plays consoles much.
On the other hand, specifically Zelda games get played.
This new game is a Zelda game.
So you see how this is difficult.
I mean... money is just a human construct....
I finally got round to automating the renewal of the Let's Encrypt TLS cert for my HomeAssistant installation through the cunning ruse of following the documentation.
With a bit of luck, I won't get another TLS cert error :)

Hii. I'm sorry to ask this again, just, I'm gonna put it back up here since donations would actually really help. Basically, I'm really in debt, and it's just a huge struggle and holding me back tbh -w-. And I don't know. Sure, a lot of it might just be my fault, but at this point I've just fallen into the debt cycle and it's super super super hard to get out of. I just want a fresh start. And like, it's not an urgent need, and I'm fine rm, just, if anyone does actually have some money to spare, it would help me so much.
Basically, I currently still have about $1,100 of medical debt from my visit to the E.R. earlier this year, plus about $1,500 on my credit card still. I'm paying off what I can afford, but it's just really hard, I really don't make much. I've been in this debt cycle for so long.
I'll put a goal in here just to see the progress of the fedi donations, but, of course I'm still trying to pay off what I can on my own.
I have all the payment methods I can take in this post: https://ck.catwithaclari.net/notes/asc3c2q1bx560jvm
Thank you for reading and boosting. Don't give if you can't or need it more yourself, however if you chose to give it's really appreciated and it helps me so much

Oh cool new dwarf kingdom architecture inspiration!
I say again: all the reporters who bought into the story of some vast, enduring "vibe shift" to the right in 2024 are bad and should feel bad about themselves.

Gordon Ramsey's on the telly and he's doing some whisking and talking at the same time.
@mcc without looking at the source folder, I'd hazard a guess that they were written before AGENTS.md became a de facto standard that they actually follow across the board.
@trechnex That's a good guess, but my sense is that COPILOT.md and CLAUDE.md appeared first, THEN AGENTS.md, THEN after AGENTS.md was an established standard I've started to see "skills files" crop up VERY recently only. Presumably if I looked up what a "skills file" is I'd understand quickly but I am not sure I really want to know
The real story of gen AI is the story of widespread, uncoordinated, unreported resistance.
When you see a CEO firing people who don’t use enough AI, the real story is that many of their employees refuse to do so unless their livelihood is held hostage.
When you see AI added to an application, present on every page, impossible to remove, the real story is that customers won’t use it unless it’s forced down their throats.
AI rejection is everywhere if you read between the lines.
