tbf that may already be fixed. I upgraded to gnome-shell 50.6 two days ago and stumbled over this yesterday.
@bekopharm
Still wonky on Gnome 51; I doubt they’re going to address this. Anything with X in the name is “legacy”.
But I can think of two fixes for the resolution confusion:
1. For Proton games: PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND with the GE or CachyOS Proton “remixes”
2. gamescope -w3840 -h2160 (or whatever your monitor’s native resolution is) – that is to say: a virtual monitor that’s like your non-virtual monitor)
This might be obvious to some, but others probably don’t know about it!

Group Channels
Just a heads up: channels within a group don't initially show up. You basically have to scroll down to the channel section, and copy-paste a link into search so that Webfinger pulls it in.
Might be worthwhile to federate those over after successfully joining a group across instances. But for now, anyone that's missing these can manually pull them in.
Also, it looks like this post isn't visible locally within the group, or under this channel tag?
But it seems to have federated.

It's so disheartening to explain this over and over working in critical infrastructure cybersecurity full time. It's because everyone demands cheap, fast remote support and AI enabled real time telemetry and control. We’ve worked ourselves into this corner through demanding connectivity and I see next to nothing truly airgapped anymore. In fact, it’s impossible to convert some critical systems back at this point.
A lot of our power infrastructure is so complex with microgrids and renewables and real time billing and buy backs that it can’t be switched to manual anymore. A lot of industrial vendors won’t provide warranty support if their remote access is removed.
And this is all happening in super low maturity environments with limited if any cybersecurity resources or tools.
We’re trying, but the state of things is pretty dire, the barrier to basic disruptive attacks is lowering rapidly, and we can’t find enough people who understand the industrial environments and cybersecurity on thirty year old computers fast enough to hire close to enough people.
@hacks4pancakes because It' s the future! Because we are living in the future! And you can' t stop progress! If there is something new it has to be better, and must be adopeted otherwise you risk of being left behind, without any type of support... (i' m just being sarcastic, don' t worry!!)
That''s basically the mantra every big tech is telling us! :D
