@gildilinie It allows me to see and imagine what can be done with any shitty tech we deal with.

It’s not like I don’t live in the real world. And this isn’t because of AI.

This outlook was gained when I began organizing and was actively swearing off all AI.

I have no intention to forcefully get people to see things my way. All I can do is explain why I think this way and how others think.

It’s why I like conversations like these (minus the shitposting…lol)

OpenSSH has a vuln which allows logging in without a password. A thread.

https://www.openssh.org/releasenotes.html

It only impacts Linux distributions which ship with musl libc and PAM disabled. I think that is just Alpine Linux (all versions) and Void Linux.

It doesn’t impact Debian, Ubuntu, SUSE, Redhat or CentOS. Nor OpenWrt.

If you want to help make Fedi a better place, follow these simple steps:

1. search for a bad actor¹
2. report that bad actor²
3. repeat³

¹ scam/spam accounts, marketing bots, nonconsensual porn (NCII), etc.

² include a reason and relevant posts

³ even one helps, but 3-5 is better

I was using the new version of PhotoCraft today. I suspect this was the culprit. Well that happens if you work with beta software.

I'm gonna start a #GoFundMe to raise funds to buy the GOP some spines.

Then to follow Trump's playbook, I'll keep the donated funds and fuck off on a cruise.

@davatron5000 Ha! I did feel amazing while I was there

This time Spock makes first contact with a new, obviously stereotypical, alien race but this is really an episode about the B plot

@ai6yr As you have lots I'd try salting some in a litre jar. Lemons are superb this way, though mine take over 12 months. The longer the better. We do a really good chicken dish with them. Cut from blossom end nearly right through then again from the same end as if you were going to quarter them - but leave the four quarters attached at the other end. Put a tablespoon of sea salt in each and pack them in the jar. Perhaps a few cut right through to fill the jar. You can't use too much salt 1/2

@evan don't matter

If the author’s profile is any indication, it’s likely Harmony was written using AI:

Federated social app: Discord-style servers and chat with ActivityPub.

I don’t remember hearing of it till now, yet it claims a lot of desired features. Github page shows only one contributor, one fork, 44 stars; lot of commits in the last week, oldest 3 years ago; GNU Affero General Public Licence v3.0.

If your “anti-abuse” security requires your software to be closed source, then your software is not secure. Well built software can be open source, and still secure.

You imply that your code could not prevent abuse if it was known, so, no offense, but that code must be pretty bad!

I like the fediverse because it distributes power. I, as a user, have the power to choose my instance, choose my moderation, choose the structure that my social interactions are built upon (threads based, microblogs, etc) and if I dont like something, I have the power to change it. Thats why open source is such a perfect fit to that model. Closed source federation then, sounds to me like you didnt get it.

Added the “make no mistakes” to the prompt, but forgot the “make it secure”. Rookie mistake.

Maybe the whole age restriction isn't enough, there should be a licence to be allowed in the internet.
