Sat on the bus next to someone I had never met before who just casually told me "Oh, it's probably not going to sound interesting to you but my presentation going to be about [reversible computing]"
@feld @hko That's exactly what it is for (and it works amazingly!) 😊 Inclusion in the freebsd ports tree is already being worked on 😊 https://bugs.freebsd.org/293962
@drahardja Thid will only happen if we replace Schumer and Jeffries. This is the most critical thing we need to do now.
@mastodonmigration I think we will. Schumer and Jeffries are wildly unpopular, and I think the Dems know it.
I also think we should start writing our congresspeople to make sure they do.
"A prescribed grazing project is getting underway at Rancho Potrero open space. Cattle will graze the site to remove built-up grass thatch, helping reduce invasive annual grasses and giving native perennial grasses room to recover. In addition to placing project info signage at the site, we’ll also be posting some temporary trail closures. Thanks for helping us keep our open space healthy and resilient!
COSCA received a CAL FIRE Wildfire Prevention grant in the amount of $100,160 from the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) as part of a CAL FIRE Regional Pilot Grant to the Southern California Wildfire Resilience Partnership, facilitated by the Regional Forest and Fire Capacity Program."
@ai6yr @cmgrowell @jberry Interesting. Yes, the non-native Harding grass desperately needs to be controlled. Eradicated would be better, but that's a pipe dream.
Cattle though? Everywhere they walk is destroyed. I have concerns.

Anyone know about Harmony (ActivityPub chat like Discord)?
Federated social app: Discord-style servers and chat with ActivityPub.

I don’t remember hearing of it till now, yet it claims a lot of desired features. Github page shows only one contributor, one fork, 44 stars; lot of commits in the last week, oldest 3 years ago; GNU Affero General Public Licence v3.0.

I gather that there's a lot to celebrate from the US election, but please don't let the pressure up! The future's too important.
Here's another good thing, these exit polls! US voters overwhelmingly oppose all the datacentre construction & the government corruption!

Elon Musk moved SpaceX to red Texas. Now it's blue. What happens next?

@arstechnica He's going to be so disappointed when he goes up and discovers it's wall-to-wall Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism above the atmosphere.

Remember that Dems don’t have enough majorities in Congress to impeach and convict.
But they *do* have enough majorities to *set the agenda*. Which means they can hold hearings and force people to testify under oath, and control what goes in the headlines, and hopefully continue to build public pressure on the Trump admin to reverse some of their more egregious decisions.
And I hope they can force the release of enough information so that it can give state prosecutors enough material to go after the criminals at the state level, since it’s clear that the DOJ isn’t going to do its job.
