@cwebber Yea the same happened to the game decompilation scene, the retrocomputing scene, the niche languages (cough lisp) scene, nothing is safe because what the slop men want is attention.
@ai6yr It's nasty down here. This system has been parked, not budging. I'm just south of Brevard and there's so much standing water, have a pond forming in the backyard.
Terrain is flat here, too. There's no place for water to run off.
Well, so. I accidentally spent a week shuffling things around in Unity Gaussian Splatting. SPZv4, direct PLY/SPZ loading, stochastic render, global sorting and whatnot. And maybe *now* I can stop working on it 😊 https://github.com/aras-p/UnityGaussianSplatting/releases/tag/v2.0.0 #unity #3dgs
right now I'm overthinking whether I'm overthinking something
@outstar The update guarantee for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is over. Pixel 6a still has more guaranteed updates due to being launched later.
6th/7th gen Pixels have a 5 year update guarantee from launch. 8th gen and later Pixels have a 7 year update guarantee from launch.
@GrapheneOS o i know they extended the 6 series that was nice of them, and i know the a`s always come out like 6-12 months later but that still means the 6a is too with one foot in grave? ....

@arstechnica too bad it's based on TRMNL and the founder of TRMNL is a Thiel bootlicker
Il faudra quelle version minimale pour krita ?

What did I say? You connect appliances to the internet, this is what you get. You should not be able to hack yoghurt.
Shop freezers in six European countries hit by suspected cyber-attack
@TheBreadmonkey It is baffling why hackers would attack a refrigerator.
This idea https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/models-and-research/google-research/google-project-suncatcher-facts/ #DatacentersInSpace is *completely fucked up*.
The environmental implications are just completely ignored. We pollute the atmosphere on the way up, at all levels, with rocket usage, and again on the way down, as the satellites fall out and burn up. At least, we hope they burn up.. I do not want a datacenter falling on my family.
We risk making the entirety of near-orbit space utterly useless to humanity for thousands of years [Kessler Syndrome](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kessler_syndrome).
And all of this is to avoid putting the datacenters on earth. Or perhaps, just not building them at all.
I really hope that lack of bandwidth, cosmic rays, vibration, and cooling, make it utterly impractical, and that all we get is a few test flights burning up in space, followed by a return to commonsense, if there ever was any.
Google, you and your lack of care for the planet, you disgust me.
@admin@app.wafrn.net
alrighty so if you see it on the news then pls don't tell the cops that it was me, ok 🥺🥺🥺
@admin@app.wafrn.net @ramona@app.wafrn.net
Yeah no snitching around here

@aras It's slightly less interesting once you dig into it. A single il2cpp build for a game contains between 4GB and 6GB worth of C++. If one was to PURELY HYPOTHETICALLY build something else that compiles (say) C# to C++, one would end up with hundreds of gigabytes of test data.
@sschoener yeah that's what I was thinking, which makes sense but is still horrifying!
I get it now. CEOs are fine with and are pushing vibe coding because they’ve always been comfortable taking credit for other people’s work. and their lack of empathy prevents them from understanding most people are not like that.
