It obviates the need for expensive computer vision sensors and unreliable algorithms by guiding the car using a set of rails, dramatically reducing the risk of collisions. This also allows it to travel at much higher speeds on straightaways. Furthermore, by chaining them together, we can considerably increase the number of passengers and thereby the efficiency of transport. In fact we can even dedicate some of the cars to human comforts, like fresh food, and peace and quiet.
