The next step in the process of writing the text editor is to work on the edit mode.
Compose mode has its proof of concept completed.
I am thinking of implementing a kind of 'hot swap' functionality which will allow switching between compose and edit mode, a little like the BBC Micro word processor called VIEW.
I may as well bind that hot swap key to the keyboard escape key.

@somafm You mean, the guys who grab your feed and play it on their own site? I hope you continue successfully blocking them.
The Cybertruck is no longer for sale?
What will I do if I ever want a car which looks like a metal doorstop?!
Sir should consider acquiring a well-maintained (S1-3) Land Rover.

Oh, wow, we’re getting a 25th anniversary showing of the LOTR movies. In marathon form, too. I am not entirely sure I would sit through that as easily as 25 years ago 😂
@heathen_cat oh, i did get to see that movie. it was very good.
Very probably the more your submission appeared to be written by generative AI, the more likely it would be to be accepted. If some person came in with an ungainly, unreadable patch and was aggressively pushing a project to accept it you'd get suspicious and wonder why but if an AI did that you'd be oh well AIs are just like that and AI written code is just like that
@mcc Do submitters of vulns include patches in their submissions? Don’t projects test patches before building packages?
And the real question: I feel it would take one maintainer saying “I received this patch from a reporter, is it a minimal fix and sound and safe? Kick the tires” to an agent and it would immediately find the backdoor?
Inspired by a @researchfairy thread, a question:
Book based on movie, movie on book: let's imagine that as a baseline unit of media distance. "TV show based on a toy" is not that far to go, particularly kid's cartoons. But "movie based on kid's toy (Barbie, Lego?) is IMO more of a hike.
"Clue" - "Movie based on board game" - is pretty far out there. "Pirates Of The Carribean" - "movie based on theme park ride" - is a _trek._.
What is the furthest, or weirdest, distance we've seen here?
@mhoye @researchfairy The Emoji Movie.

It’s Bandcamp Friday. Stop doom scrolling and listen to some indie music. Make a difference to an insecure musician today and buy a single or an album!
