Inspired by a @researchfairy thread, a question:

Book based on movie, movie on book: let's imagine that as a baseline unit of media distance. "TV show based on a toy" is not that far to go, particularly kid's cartoons. But "movie based on kid's toy (Barbie, Lego?) is IMO more of a hike.

"Clue" - "Movie based on board game" - is pretty far out there. "Pirates Of The Carribean" - "movie based on theme park ride" - is a _trek._.

What is the furthest, or weirdest, distance we've seen here?
