The next step in the process of writing the text editor is to work on the edit mode.
Compose mode has its proof of concept completed.
I am thinking of implementing a kind of 'hot swap' functionality which will allow switching between compose and edit mode, a little like the BBC Micro word processor called VIEW.
I may as well bind that hot swap key to the keyboard escape key.
