LOL

@Foxnews chyron just now: “Far-Left Dems now hold sway over Congress.”

You would think that MAGA dipshits would realize that @fox News has LED them straight into oblivion. But nope. As Forrest said, “stupid is as stupid does.”

@cstross In hotels in Spain is getting quite normal to have Nespresso machines but kettles is rarer, in the cities where they have loads of British tourism I guess they have. In first case , don't put the capsule and you get your hot water. That's what I tell to our British, for the tea, and Argentinian customers, for the mate(1).

Please let the Dems understand that the election results were far, far more about repudiating Trump than endorsing Dems. (With some exceptions... I think El-Sayed's policies are genuinely popular, and he is as well.)

Roll up your sleeves in January and start holding Trump and his cronies accountable. Tax the living shit out of Musk and the ultra-wealthy.

Perhaps most of all: abolish ICE, shut down the fucking detention centers, turn up the heat on the Epstein files, end any and all funding to Israel, and turn back the nasty shit the GOP has enacted to take effect early next year with social safety net programs.

Put Schumer out to pasture. Make AOC speaker.

Another major IIHF sponsor is threatening to pull support. Henning Strauss, CEO of German company Strauss, released this statement:

"We have been a partner of the Ice Hockey World Championship for many years and value our collaboration with the IIHF. Should Russia’s national team participate in the 2027 World Championship in Germany as a result of the CAS ruling, we will forgo all logo exposure associated with the tournament. We are also considering withdrawing as a sponsor."

@ethicalrevolution @keefmarshall The votes were tampered with! I've heard that illegal votes were cast by Bluesky users.

@dwenius yes

If you don't have any ideas of what to make, get a blank page & start making marks. Do whatever you feel like.

It may turn out cool, but even if it doesn't, you will have woken your brain up.

If you "don't have any ideas", then do random stuff. Try things. Mess around.

Exercise your creativity.

Don't wait for inspiration. Inspire yourself.

At least for me, nothing fills my brain with artistic ideas in the same way that dedicating time to making things even when I "don't have ideas" does.

Advice for anyone who wants to make art:

Make art.

I've been focused on paper quilling for a few days & new ideas for designs keep popping into my head. I close my eyes & see swirling paper.

This is what happens when I consistently do creative work. I go from having no ideas to having too many.

When I sit down & start working on something at random without knowing what I want to make or what it could look like, it gets my brain in gear, & THEN the ideas come. To make art, you gotta make art.

I didn’t realize Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello had taken The Postal Service in such an Orwellian direction.

I haven't been making art as consistently, & I thought it was because my ideas had dried up.

That's backwards. My ideas dried up because I wasn't making anything.

Make stuff even when you don't feel inspired. Where do you think inspiration comes from?

We need to light up Hakeem Jeffries office with “no actually we DO want retribution” calls starting right now.

Read the fucking room dude.

Gotta love that scope creep.

@cwebber i used it briefly, but i couldn't get idle detection stuff to work properly. it's supposed to be compatible with swayidle, from what i read, but it would lock or go to sleep in the middle of using it all the time and i couldn't fix it.

if anybody figures that out i would love to try it again

@gardiner_bryant

I see your point.

The way that you've written it may imply the argument being whether it matters who one votes as no matter how much any of those is evil since they both are.

The way I see it is similar with the difference being that lesser evil is always preferable.

It is (in my experience) better to see parties as foes and better foe is always preferable.
