I'm surprised Elon is worried that Dems winning the presidency & congress creates a risk of America becoming a 1-party state but for some reason doesn't express such fears about Republicans running the presidency, congress AND the supreme court today. 🤔

I finally got the magpie's attention!

She has been squaking but stays out of sight. Well now the leaves have fallen and there's nowhere to hide!

We talked briefly. Once we made contact, she let out quite a song in a number of languages: sqeeks, caws, whistles. Then she flew off. It wasn't just a sentence. It was a whole paragraph.

I finally got to talk to one of the local corvids, who have been astutely ignoring me for almost two years. Maybe she will tell the crows and ravens I'm ok.

Or maybe they will make fun of me together.

For Halloween at work I was an invasive golden mussel/muscle. A little too scary of a costume possibly (too soon?) and to lay it on thick, I settled on some of the oyster reef balls in the lobby.

Now here we get something promising. This is the "just the frontend" app the GTS team built out of glitchsoc, I've been using it since Mastodon 5 dropped, I'm typing into it right now. It actually lets me go all the way through the Oauth flow and log in to my mastodon account! Then it displays the same error as mastodon.social mainline. I guess I should have expected that.

Wait, why does mastodon-fe give its version number as "Mastodon 5-nightly" in the error? 🤔

@mcc I just downloaded servo to try it out. I am very pleased to report that my website zone.dog, and most of my recent wasm experiments seem to work mostly fine! except for the mollytime port. I wonder if that means they dont have webaudio yet
