Does anyone in #Chicago or the environs thereof want a large supply of scrap #denim or other #fabric for #sewing or other crafting purposes?
I have plenty of scrap jeans and other damaged clothes that I could dump in a recycling bin. But reuse is better than recycling, so if anyone nearby needs textiles I could just give some away instead.

#Etsy has updated their Terms of Service that forces sellers to allow the use of their photographs, videos, and text to train #AI. There is no opt-out.
It seems bonkers to me that Etsy, a website which ostensibly sells human-made creations, is forcing sellers to enable AI to learn from and subsequently copy their own products. I guess they now feel that they have enough market share that people will not leave over this.

Every now and then Big Tech will shoot themselves in the foot and send waves of disappointed users our way. Yesterday was one of these days, as Google doubled down on their efforts to force AI down everyone's throats — this time school students.
So if you're a teacher, a school administrator, or know anyone on any school boards, anywhere in the world...would you kindly let them know that there is an independent European alternative with no AI? We'd love to talk!
@Vivaldi But you use Chromium, you are still supporting Google by increasing Chromes usershare. I agree with everything else, but it doesn't make sense to call out Google when you are so dependent on them. The browser needs to be open source too.

Texas went blue for a LOT of offices, including court seats.
The TX Supreme Court WAS 9 Republicans. 6 men and 3 women.
4 of the men, including the Chief Justice were up for election.
ALL 4 have been replaced with Democratic women.
The court is now 5 Republicans to 4 Democrats.
And now majority female: 2 men and 7 women, including Chief Justice Maggie Ellis.
I can't help but think the abortion issue may have been a factor here, with the Dobbs decision and Texas enacting draconian anti-abortion laws, in addition to getting caught in the "blue wave".

There's a guy on YouTube (and Internet Archive) who's been "remastering" the episodes, allegedly from DVD.
But he's "AI upscaled" them to 1080P/4K and also 60 FPS videos
Tl;dr of the question: Does "AI upscaled video" fall under the same blanket "fuck AI" ethically for folks as LLM's? I'm not actually clear how different (if at all) the use cases are
