Gemini North image of Arp 84, also known as NGC 5394 and NGC 5395.
Past interactions between this galaxy pair created the bright ring and inner spiral arms seen in the smaller, distorted spiral NGC 5394. Over time, much of the gas that was originally in the ring was pulled into the central region where it is fueling a burst of star formation.
