Apollo apparently trying to seduce Cassandra…
Doesn’t look like it’s going well and this is the precursor to much of Cassandra’s woes. The story goes that Cassandra sought the gift of foresight from Apollo and he was willing to grant it *for a price*. When Cassandra refused to pay, Apollo cursed her to accuracy of foresight but no one believing what she foretold. The rest is pure tragedy.
Remember remember wait oh shit I forgor what
@mcc it basically let's you create a second pull request that depends on the first. To create the review diff for the second PR, it uses the target branch with the first PR branch merged as a base.
It's useful if you have a large change that would be easier to review in parts, while not requiring you merge all changes upwards of changes are requested lower in the stack.
@jamesh i see. this is definitely a problem i have encountered more than once with "git forges"
I would like to imagine *and then make real* a better reality than humanity being reduced to a strip-mined strip mall where we exist just to unclog the Orange Julius machine every now and then.

@mcc Yeah, saying the above by the way of shared condolence. It's fucking awful, and I'm sorry you've been hit as hard.
@xgranade yes, i understood. thank you
every now and then i come up with a solution to something and think "this is such a horrible hack, i'm sure there are better ways to do this", but then i check open source software that does the same thing, and it's the same hack everywhere
Sometimes I'm walking down the street and I gasp cos I've just spied someone famous.
I don't remember their name (cos I'm bad at that stuff) but they're super famous, and here they are casually walking down the street!
Should I go over and say something?
Am I staring a bit too much?
Should I ask for a selfie?
And then it strikes me: they're not an actor. The reason I recognise them is because they're the checkout person at Aldi!
Everyone, I have a suggestion: New Skill November.
But I don't like avocados
#BTSE brings you up-to-the-second hearsay about your most machiavellian newsmakers, including $VEET (Velveeta).
$VEET (Velveeta) is doomed to merge with accelerated interest in a deal with $PROS (Pro Shipping). What does this mean for the G-20? Follow us to know more.

Und ich frage mich, wer oder was "Genz" ist 🤣
So sieht's aus wie ein Name.
@quincy nicht nur Du. 😅
Ich kenne sogar jemanden, der Genz heißt.
Deshalb Hashtags immer in CamelCase schreiben. ☝️
Hello everyone, I hope you're having a nice Sunday 😊
If you have some time later to join our listening party, that would be wonderful. We will be starting at 10:00 PM UTC.
The listening party is for the album CommsBreakdown and I released last Friday called For The Setting Sun. We can listen to the music together and chat about the making of the album.

@jamesh I don't know what that is. I guess I've been spending pretty little time on github vs codeberg lately.

![NEW SKILL NOVEMBER
[an art nouveau painting in autumn colors of a woman playing the harp]
LEARN A NEW SKILL OR REBUILD AN OLD ONE; THE ONLY RULE: DO IT YOURSELF, DO NOT USE AI
Sketching, knitting, whittling, a musical instrument, a foreign language, a tricky video game, cooking, weaving, changing oil, riding a bike, painting, pixel art, website design, digital image editing, bookbinding, calligraphy, identifying mushrooms, embroidery, soldering, that one thing you've been putting off
Do the hard part yourself, no matter how imperfect it feels. Learn and internalize how it really works. Consult guides written by human experts, and ask your fellow human beings for help. Take pride in knowledge and abilities that are an intrinsic part of your existence and not dependent on renting from corporations.
