@Fragglemuppet I voted yes because it affects the texture and the way the sauce distributes over it.
@korrok @Fragglemuppet Was going to say exactly that. Different pastas for different types of sauces.
Started work on making python-varlink compatible with the new UAPI varlink specification. Part one was easy and only adds the new Error definitions.

Ranked-choice voting actually makes the double-Sullivan ploy ineffective. If anyone is confused, they vote for both. And unless Peltola gets over 50%, they get combined. So why run this deceptive article? Guess.

For goodness sake, if you care more about RAM hoarding than powering ICE and autonomous military weapons or large-scale theft from creative people and vulnerable communities I don't know what to tell you.
@ben
I see all of these as facets of the same problem, fwiw.
The RAM hoarding leads to routing basic tasks through systems controlled by the people powering ICE, creating autonomous killing systems, driving surveillance, and stealing creative work -- and killing off our educational system.

"a shapeshifting alien sent to reconnoiter the planet in preparation for conquest and subjugation"
... so ... a cat.
@futurebird You are right of course. What was I thinking? However, I started writing a story once, still unfinished, about a shapeshifting alien who took on the shape of a cat and began living with a science fiction writer. When the writer was asleep, the alien would edit her stories and correct all of the physics so that the warp drives and energy weapons would actually work. Of course these working descriptions seemed preposterous to the editors at the publishing house, so they edited them all out again, depriving humans of astounding scientific progress.
@ramsey ah, is it annual security training time again?
I swear, there's a better chance of "fetch" happening than more *ishing verbs catching on 🙄
@stevegrunwell The “cybersecurity” industry is in their own little world.
@lazarus @ohyran exactly! that's the point I make with all this, how do you communicate mechanical transformation to the future.

@MaddieM4 Yeah once you reach a certain amount of followers as a woman you end up with some risk of harrassment.
Hello there!
Oh, Katie did get a photo of me not smiling (it was hard to look serious with Bluey and a Minecraft skeleton just out of frame!).
Damn, young Patrick Stewart could get it
@geekysteven
Gosh, he had hair and looked an awful lot like young Tom Hardy, geekysteven.
When YOU were young did you look like young Patrick Stewart?

@onan I got a neighbor named Tony....he's like 64 years old.. The guy is a little over the hill sometimes - he has done a fair deal of speed and heroine in his days (and i suppose other various drugs, probably..)
Sometimes the guy is wrong about something... BUT, often i find myself just going "Yeah" when he is wrong, because reasoning with him is out of the picture - i just agree..
That's a good way to just go about your life, too, i think... Just say; "Yeah, sure"
Like, whatever, sure thing
It's two days before the election, an election we need the Democrats to win to have any chance of preventing the government from descending permanently into fascism, and a Democratic primary loser is attending church with the Republican candidate running against the person she lost to in the primary?
You have got to be fucking kidding me with this shit.
I don't know what #HaleyStevens is, but it's pretty clear she isn't someone who gives a shit about democracy.

I can't remember who I learned this from (maybe @raganwald?) but a good trick for reading computer science papers if you work in industry is
1. Find a bunch of papers on the problem you need to solve.
2. Notice what baseline they're all comparing their new shiny techniques to.
3. Implement that instead.
