UAPI.20 Varlink IPC# Version Changes 0.1 Initial release Varlink is an interface description format and IPC protocol that aims to make services accessible to both humans and machines in the simplest feasible way. A Varlink interface combines what the classic UNIX command line options, STDIN/STDOUT/STDERR text formats, man pages and service metadata provide, and makes the equivalent available over a single file descriptor. Varlink is plain-text, type-safe, discoverable, self-documenting, remotable, testable and easy to debug. It is accessible from any programming environment: clients do not require complex modules or libraries, existing JSON and local socket communication facilities are sufficient for basic operation.
