A couple good things to do would be a profile pic (doesn't have to be a photo, just something other than the default) and a little bio that you pin to your timeline (doesn't have to be true/complete, just enough to give us a sense of you).

If you have interests, you can ask about them. People use hashtags to help others find topics. There are also some "super-boosters" who boost a variety of posts that can help you find people you want to follow. Like @lisamelton

When @startrekgifs uploads the clip it sets a mime type and an alt text. The duration and dimensions are detected by the server.

mostly it uploads mp4 files with the mime type video/gifv. Under circumstances it also uploads video/webm image/webp or image/gif

Hey all! I’ve been thinking about how to best unit-test my shader code, since TDD has been very helpful for me. But I’ve been able to find surprisingly little information. If possible, I’d love to hear from your experiences!

My current plan is to write unit tests using Sub-Viewports that each have a small wrapper shader to draw the result of the tested functions to e.g. 256x256px textures, which I can then compare against snapshots. Depending on the effects of different hardware/driver environments, it might be necessary to check that for some threshold t:

vec3 res = abs(result - snapshot);  // residuals
max(res.r, res.g, res.b) < t

This could technically also allow for assertion functions (one condition per pixel), but getting any kind of usable error messages would mean a ton of work, so I don’t think that it’d be worth it - though I am tempted :)

@mcc Yes, I use CMake to build a Visual Studio project, then work inside Visual Studio from then on. Export config is just a dropdown menu at the top of the editor.

Just finished up with the #repairCafe at the library.

I was main for bicycles and backup for laptop repair and Linux Install.

I managed to:
- tune a derailleur on one bike
- attach a kickstand to another
- swap out fresh tires and inner tubes for a third (and taught the family how to do and supervised them while they did the second tire!)

As backup for laptop repair, I helped diagnose and find a mitigation for a set or USB headphones/mic that was only pushing sound through one speaker.

I also met a lot of folks throughout town. Talked to some city organizers and officials. Talked to other groups and folks and had a great time.

The other repair stands besides my bicycle station were:
- A sewing and mending station
- An electronic / appliance repair station
- A historical preservation station
- A furniture repair station
- A laptop repair and Linux install station
- A kids section with coloring and activities

It was a good day.

For the D&D rates, nah, there is a table in Holmes' Basic Set that specifically gives different movement rates between "carefully mapping and checking for traps", and not doing that. I might be reading it wrong though.
