Former House Financial Services Chair Patrick McHenry says the crypto industry "had an opportunity to legislate". Could've sworn that was Congress's job.
"Congres shall make no law."
Or something like that.

@ai6yr My partner and I say we get along so well because we have no interests in common -- e.g., she isn't interested at all in bicycles and I hate baseball -- so we have nothing to argue about.

I think about this post all the time. But especially, lately, "did not ask for skin" :)

Literally none I basically assumed that anything I do on the internet can be read by anyone at any time. I’m still a fucking freak because they’ll have to kill me to stop me from being freaky. If I die unexpectedly the government did it. Never forget that.

Our first lamb of our first lambing. Born on May 4th so we called her Leia (we're terrible at naming...). She stole my heart immediately. Her Mum was very attentive, as were all of the Boreray ewes. They made our first lambing an easy experience.

I think I need to join in, since I have the same spot, maybe even some of the same sheep, as Jess.

@dillyd beautiful shot, thanks!
As a child I used to clean up after a shit not by wiping but by hopping onto the sink, ass hanging over the rim, and washing it. I don't remember how old I was when I stopped, only that I was already heavy enough to cause the sink to partially come off the wall.
@fesshole You had the right idea though. I trust you have a bidet now?
CMake question.
For years, I've been adding this line to my cmake configuration invokes on Windows.
-A x64
I do this because I believe this is the only way to communicate to Windows CMake I want to build an x86-64 executable and NOT x86-32.
My wife tried to use one of my invocations on her machine. It angrily refused to run, saying I requested "platform specification" and "ninja" does not support "platform specification".
Is there a correct cross-generator way to say "64 BIT" on Windows?
@mcc I have CMake build for Visual Studio and in the project set it to compile x64. That may or may not be useful to you.

One thing I would like to point out with WoW forever, is that it really does feel like how the game felt 20 years ago.
I don't mean the graphics etc. I mean you start a game, and you are not overloaded with Lore, game mechanics, premium currencies, different points, things to do, fast travel that destroys your sense of where things are etc; it is still a masterclass in rolling out the game at a pace new players can handle. It is amazingly chill, without holding the player's hand too much, you can still make mistakes, but it's not going to screw you over. And, it also doesn't throw money at you constantly to the point where everyone is rich in-game; you have to have patience.

In my opinion this isn’t that big of a problem since it’s fairly hard to look at and discern
You are like one LLM prompt away from a website that makes it fairly easy to look at and discern so that’s not really a valid argument
🍂 Stray Kitten Report 9 (2/2)
Also, big news: we always thought the black cat who came with the kitten was the mother, until I finally could pet her, she raised her tail and... obviously a male.
Once Blacky (named for his coat, obviously) trusted me, the real mother, Grisouille ("little greyish one" in Fr) came out of the forest and joined. She had been hiding. Both are now very friendly.
I've contacted the vet, and we'll soon sterilize them all. A bit pricey, but we saved since Sept for that.

@davidrevoy 👍🏼👏🏼
@ludovic Surprised there's no fediverse-based alternative to Letterboxd (that I know of). Now might be the time to shine for such a project.
@xibe That kind of website lives or dies on its user base, really, so it's less of a technical problem and more of a community building and management problem. Something that is often a hit-and-miss thing with open-source projects.
