By next Friday,
Alaa must pay the tent seller 850 shekels (238 euros) as the remaining balance.
Otherwise, she will have her tent forcibly confiscated and will be left on the streets, directly exposed to the winter cold and wind and rain, along with her children and her mother who has just undergone surgery.

I urgently need $400 to buy a new tent. Our shelter was flooded by the rain this morning, and we have nowhere dry to sleep. The freezing nights are becoming unbearable. Without a proper tent, I fear we won't survive this winter. Please help me find shelter before it's too lat

...I used the lollums (opus 5.5 and gpt 6.1-sol specifically) to help me do that "let's integrate 12 years of upstream changes, and move to whole new optimizer pipeline, and cover it all with tests, and evaluate the results" part. And while the lollums definitely are way less annoying and "stupid" than they were a year ago, this was very far from "one shot / vibed" effort. ...
... there were a lot of moments when I was "geez why the heck did you do this", but there also was a handful moments of "oh, nice, I would have not thought of that".
Now, yes, sure, the whole lollum industry is still plagued with issues from business models to ethics to concentration of power to <insert all the other reasons>. Still, for doing this type of work, it would have taken me, several weeks perhaps? A month? Now it was casual babysitting for four days, and maybe 100 euros.

Mostly facts which are utterly irrelevant to life in the UK thought...

Looking back, once the popular right leaning podcasters turned against Trump, that was a sign it was over. Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan, Andrew Schultz, Theo Von, Tim Dillon, etc all are now publicly anti-Trump.
Their livelihoods depend on knowing what people want to hear and they were canaries in the coal mine.
At best, the election results should function as a mandate for grassroots resistance to the Trump administration's policies, not as a pressure valve to diminish the urgency we feel.
We must build the grassroots capacity to defend and care for our communities.
If we succeed, Democratic politicians will probably try to co-opt whatever we have achieved by offering to do the same things for us through the state. But they will only offer us what we demonstrate the ability to accomplish ourselves, and it is better to develop the ability to address needs directly and consistently than for the well-being of our communities to depend on the outcome of elections.

@Moosader shoot, I wish we had a toaster oven in my building. We just have a microwave and a baby drip coffeemaker. We did convince prev director to buy a Keurig for my shared office before he retired though.
@kcimaginary All the appliances here are brought in by us, so the microwave and toaster are from another teacher, I brought in the coffee pot and water pitcher. :')
