NO WE ARE NOT GIVING THIS SENATE TO CHUCK SCHUMER
@jgobble Nonsense. #WeThePeople won in spite of Schumer, not because of him. The DSCC and Schumer worked against progressives in places like ME, IL, and MI. They refused to fund good candidates in FL and MI. The victory could have been even bigger if these centrist corporate Dems were not in control of the purse strings. Going forward, if we are to reestablish a government by the people and for the people they must be removed from leadership.
@mastodonmigration @mastodonmigration Those candidates just did not get as much money from party sources as they could've had. Schumer recruited most of the Senate candidates - and fully funded them! Nixon & Jolly lost because FL didn't have enough get-out-the-vote campaign. They were both within 1-3 pts of winning in FL. El-Sayed won in MI because he ran a great campaign. Assuming this is a progressive win will sink you! It wasn't. It was a vote AGAINST MAGA.

@jgobble @mastodonmigration As somebody from New York, Chris Murphy would be another good option, but he unfortunately is recovering from a serious stroke he suffered on Halloween.
Chris Van Hollen is another good option. Heck, maybe even one day in the not so distant future, Jon Ossoff could be in line for a leadership position?
I do think Schumer should be primaried. With all due respect to him, it's time for somebody new to represent New York.

@cameron_bosch @mastodonmigration Primarying him is different than saying "he shouldn't be majority leader". He did the work. Until he loses his seat, he should get the benefits of doing that work.
@jgobble @cameron_bosch He can be a Senator, but with a 13% national approval rating he should not be our national Majority Leader.
@mastodonmigration @cameron_bosch Yes, he should. Cos everyone hates those in charge when things dont go their way. BUT they dont remember he and Jeffries raised over $500M for this election!!! You know, the election we just won in a Tsunami!
@jgobble @cameron_bosch Which was won in spite of him, not because of him. He opposed progressive candidates across the board. The idea that this success has anything to do with Schumer is another piece of propaganda nonsense.
@AnnieBuddy Simple. The Senators vote for a Majority Leader, and the winner is elected to the post.
@mastodonmigration He can Chuck off.
@mastodonmigration Yes, we are ... If I have anything to say about it. You realize the candidates that won in the places that most of them did were brought on board by Schumer and funded by his fund raising!
