what can i even fucking do now

there's no point in having a conversation about the architectural design that affects everyone, if we'll just be hit with "but it has to work like systemd's architecture because we refuse to use cgroup apis ourselves"

like what, having a sandbox actually manage the parameters of a sandbox instead of telling pid1 to do it too hard? it's literally files you write to, it's literally simpler than calling systemd over dbus

Sounds musky.

We shouldn’t be forced to use toxic platforms that track and profile us in order to get public information.

Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube track and profile their users so that they can target advertising towards them.

Their business models fuel online harms by pushing more and more extreme content to users. Despite this, these platforms are one of the primary ways that government departments share public information.

Tell your MP to support the EDM calling on the UK Government to ensure that all public sector social media content is published on open, decentralised and federated platforms!

I'm turning 60 on Thanksgiving this year -- probably in Nashville because my mom wants me there.

Not sure how you celebrate a "Congratulations, your newborn baby is now an old man" party, but I can leverage the teensy bit of patience and grace that I have left.

To misuse the millennial colloquialism, I have about four fucks left to give, and my 60th birthday is gonna use up at least one of them.

@chris @tezoatlipoca yup I got one a year ago, my deep sleep went up over 50%, then I got blackout blinds and an adjustable bed and it doubled!

You can fix your sleep, but it might take time and money (our blinds, mattresses and beds were not cheap)

@TheBreadmonkey thanks, i try.

@ryno

IRC not working for me...

@maegul @retrogaming I like the idea of using a retro or retro-like computer for word processing and distraction-free writing.

As for MicroBee, some of the original engineers revived the company a few years back and rereleased the original machine in kit form: https://www.microbeetechnology.com.au/previous-releases.html

They're currently working on the never-released successor, which was going to be a 68k-based machine (like the Amiga, Atari ST, and early Macintosh) with a Z80 for backwards compatibility: https://www.microbeetechnology.com.au/new-models.html

I feel like there is some really clever person who has figured out how to get into flock's system. They are sitting quietly in the cut hoping for a democrat to win the presidency, before they takedown the whole thing, thinking they are less likely to get in real trouble then.

We are going to find out that the democrats really love spying too.
