Government must move away from toxic social media platforms | Open Rights Group [Video]
We shouldn’t be forced to use toxic platforms that track and profile us in order to get public information.
Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube track and profile their users so that they can target advertising towards them.
Their business models fuel online harms by pushing more and more extreme content to users. Despite this, these platforms are one of the primary ways that government departments share public information.
Tell your MP to support the EDM calling on the UK Government to ensure that all public sector social media content is published on open, decentralised and federated platforms!

Oh yay! Someone just bought one of the To the Nines CDs I'm selling on my Bandcamp page 🎉
(If you see this, thank you!!)
I'll be getting it ready to ship out in next few days once I've processed the shock and excitement that someone ordered one, hehe.
But as this means I'll be needing to take the trip out to drop the CD off at my distribution centre soon, does anyone else want to grab one too? The CD comes in a 2 panel full colour print jacket with gloss UV coating 💿

@ossguy It's really sad to see Conservancy continue to blow up its reputation with this continual defense of LLMs. You're emphatically refusing to listen to your support base. It's especially sad for an organization financially dependent on small donors.
Some #chillwave for your #BandcampFriday. Reminder that I am donating all sales to the National Women's Shelter Network.

After the polls close, the election outcome is generally determined, and it’s just a matter of letting the count proceed and waiting for the results. But one exception is provisional ballots, where campaigns continue their GOTV efforts to encourage those who voted that way to cure their ballots before the deadline.
Mississippi’s senate seat is likely to be decided by provisional ballots this year, so we’re seeing a lot of this activity now.
@mattblaze
Yes! And the NAACP is all over this. I was asking people this morning to please donate to them, if possible, to help them on the front lines.
@davidrevoy @ploum @oaktree
Ah oui, a pile à lire, je connais.
Apparently... this song is the song that will convince you to buy the whole album on Bandcamp Friday.
But really, without the context of the whole album, it is just a song.
Maybe random strangers passing by might see this. And click. And listen.

it's the #BandcampFriday obligatory post!
not much new in the past few months, the San Diego show was my most recent big project and i'm on the verge of a new outing... maybe another album?
until then, enjoy this strange remix of anime samples and other found sounds:

Another #bandcampfriday final shout! JEWEL SCHEME have a new album - a gapless 32 minutes of hyper indielectro with a twist of, well, us (yuk!).
'Write - Protect - Release' is out now. Someone order a bloody cassette, they're lovely! (CD available too, but there's just a handful left)

"There are plenty of excellent outtake reels from Star Trek: The Next Generation, which are always good for a laugh when you need it. But the best out-of-character moment comes from a little birthday message our beloved captain recorded for Gene Roddenberry’s birthday—The Alphabet Song, complete with a hat and cane, and a little dance. I can never decide whether this or the Sesame Street B soliloquy deserves the top spot in his alphabet performances. Because he has more than one."

TFW you listen through your own whole album two years after it was released and realize it's actually pretty good!
Getting late on this #bandcampfriday so here's one last holler! It's release day for our new Whin album 'Summer Visitor'! Whin is Robert Dallas Gray and myself, this time with several wonderful guests...

Stephen Miller terrorized, kidnapped, and murdered my neighbors.
This is not some vague figurative sloganeering thing. I can take you on a walk from my house and point out the spots where they took people. I know multiple people who had relatives abducted by ICE, including citizens. My wife personally knew Alex Pretti, and found out he died when she saw his face on the news.
Stephen Miller. This was his brainchild. This was his fantasy. This is on his hands. Just so we’re clear.
"Texas #Democrats last night did the following: Flipped every statewide race from #US senator down to railroad commissioner ...incl the 4 state #SupremeCourt seats that were up (of 9 total). Facing a #Trump ordered ... gerrymander meant to flip 5 seats to the Rs, Dems instead flipped 1 net seat for themselves... Dems needed 14 seats to flip the state #House, a generally unfathomable number... as of Wed morning, they’d clearly flipped the chamber"
