think you might have pests in your attic? cut away a small square of the ceiling below, and wait until it's dark. if you can see a red light flickering through the gap in the floorboards, then it's almost certainly mice. the light comes from the optical sensor which is on the underside of the mouse

I personally have an Ecobee, but I deliberately did not connect it to the internet. It still supports weekly or daily programming and separate programs for heat or cool.
They use that to hurt themselves too. More common in my immediate experience.

My wife had been on at me for years to "manscape" and shave my pubes. Finally gave in but used hair removal cream as didnt want to risk a razor down there. The wife now won't go near me as my penis apparently resembles Cyril Sneer from the 80s cartoon The Raccoons.

@cohanf You're so kind, thank you! We had well water when i was a kid and I still miss the nice taste of dissolved minerals. I envy the no frills life you've carved out for yourself. Simple is good.
@Momo0 My well water has maybe too many dissolved minearls: including sulphur...lol I am rather used to it, but we also use a Briat when you don't want to taste that, and to keep the tea/coffee kettle clear.
I'll be leaving here in the next couple/few years, not sure of the destination yet, but it will be a big change one way or another!
