Most of that is fair except
UI code is not part of the core business
That I definitely disagree with. UI and UX is important.
Still doesn’t make that vibe coded frontend worth anything.

Scientifically speaking (and, listen to me, I’ve been head diving on this precise topic since 2020), there’s no evidence that shows that looking that kind of porn, or looking at fictional porn that depicts characters whose appearance match with the one of a children, makes you a rapist nor makes you normalize that.
It’s even the opposite, just as violent games are not going to make you a serial killer.
What you’re arguing has been longly dismounted, it’s the hypodermic needle hypothesis.

That's what the "AI is gonna help solve the climate crisis" folks mean: "AI" is just gonna end our ability to live on this planet. That _is_ one solution.
@tante brought to you by the people who are really in to accelerationism, who are too high off their own supply to think their personal security mercenaries won't eat them when money has no value
Oh dear.
> Note: This marked the final acting performance of Dom DeLuise before his death in May 2009.
Don't you just hate it when that happens?
@glynmoody They're using AI to produce a better verified math library than stealing existing code libraries or previously implementations? In what format? What are the reuse paths? Are they only formally verifying the algorithms, or will they formally verify all translations? e.g., symbolic (TeX, ???) to computer language (C, Python, ???) Do compilers/interpreters have to be vetted?
@lwriemen good questions; doubtless some will be answered in due course
a true programmer can write bad C in any language
@foone I once tried programming in Welsh but ended up with memory leeks

Fediverse
Hi from normals.me. If you can read this, the federation works
This post is written on https://normals.me and delivered to !fediverse@lemmy.world over #ActivityPub, so if you are reading it the basic plumbing works. Now let me explain what is this.
Normals is a forum with communities, threads, and questions with an accepted answer. It is a single instance, not software you can host, and the core is closed for anti-abuse reasons. The federation module will be published separately with implementation notes (FEP-67ff).
What federates today Every community is a Group actor following the Lemmy model (FEP-1b12). Follow @selfhosted@normals.me or any other community from Lemmy, PieFed, Mbin or Mastodon.
Posts and comments go both ways. Replies from your instance appear in the thread on Normals, replies from Normals go back to the origin.
Remote content is labelled with its origin, links back to it, and is never copied. Media loads from the source.
Signed fetches, so it works with instances that require authorized fetch. NodeInfo 2.1 is up.
Policies, in case they matter to you, it has no ads, and no paid reach, and of course no AI training on posts. AI crawlers blocked by default, public mod log with reasons, and no automated removals. Numbers at https://normals.me/transparency so please take a look.
If something from your instance shows up wrong here, or something from here shows up wrong on yours, reply with the URL and I'll fix it. Andy Piper mentioned NodeBB uses the same group model, if anyone runs a NodeBB instance I'd like to test against it, if possible.
I hope we all have fun. Cheers!
"Tell your congresspeople! You must break Elon Musk. Make him a scarecrow for the other members of his class. There will never be a better opportunity: People want blood, and virtually everyone in the world hates this scumbag. If Elon Musk has so much as a million dollars to spend on the 2028 election, the blue Congress will have airballed a layup."

@jalefkowit
There is a place for him though. It's called federal prison.
@AugierLe42e
@boreal_stars
@thomas @boreal_stars Peut-être que je me trompe. Et j'espère très sincèrement que vous avez raison 😰
@glynmoody the headline is s bit misleading, isn't it? From what I understand they are replacing "correctness issues" with "usefulness issues" and they call it "taste". Whether this works or warrants not calling it slop remains to be seen. One can easily generate all kinds of correct results which are meaningless and by sheer quantity amount to slop. Interesting approach though.
@grob as you know, this is a fast-changing area; but never dull

What new in CoMaps in October
Want to learn what the CoMaps community worked on during October? Learn about it in our latest “This Month in CoMaps” blog post here: comaps.app/…/this-month-in-comaps-october-2026/
#FridayJukebox some #Shihad #Pacifier some good old fashioned kiwi rock from my yonder days.
@wnd It looks like you've looked at 2010-2024 constituencies. The big variation in population is what the Electoral Commission addressed in 2023 with the Boundary review.
@wnd e.g. Aberconwy isn't a constituency now. There is Bangor Aberconwy.
eh, I checked the linked community. They have a rule that posters must link to the model’s verification that they’re overage on every post:
Age verification info for models required; OnlyFans, Fansly profile links are acceptable.
Seems fine to me. This sounds like a whole lot of virtue signalling and pearl-clutching.
There’s a very clear line in the sand to me: don’t post anyone underage. Posting overage girls is fine to me no matter what they look like. Should the “small boobs” community also be banned because people might mistake a 25 year old with As for a 15 year old? Come on.
What a whole lot of nothing. You/they are accusing them of “hosting child pornography” on the basis that they have nude images of proven-overage adults.
Ragebait title too.

If your “anti-abuse” security requires your software to be closed source, then your software is not secure. Well built software can be open source, and still secure.
You imply that your code could not prevent abuse if it was known, so, no offense, but that code must be pretty bad!
I like the fediverse because it distributes power. I, as a user, have the power to choose my instance, choose my moderation, choose the structure that my social interactions are built upon (threads based, microblogs, etc) and if I dont like something, I have the power to change it. Thats why open source is such a perfect fit to that model. Closed source federation then, sounds to me like you didnt get it.

🚨 The $TRUMP meme coin just fell to an all-time low of $1.22—98% off the $73.43 high it hit shortly after debuting. 📉
Buyers were already an estimated $3.2 billion underwater.

@z_everson It was a scam and those who set it up must ne investigated.
How many billions did the #Trump #Kushner gang made out of it ?
Exhausted think I'm gonna crash out soon, curious to see how the markets will roll tomorrow after today's bloodbath.
Sorry, the app encountered an unexpected error
