The privacy policy mentions the page is from Poland and references Polish law though.
I would like the Democratic Senators to elect a different majority leader. They probably won’t. But this is a time to push Schumer to commit to taking the fight to the Trump regime. Senator Chris Van Hollen is up for it. So is Senator-Elect Abdul El-Sayed. https://www.bloomberglaw.com/product/blaw/bloomberglawnews/bloomberg-law-news/X1PCL5524L08GO8O8NHDQM86GNF?criteria_id=521d76d244d7dd0b017b107e1440ca0f&search32=ZNGZQDRwZl-O-MBmTD3YDw==ynTr8kSkFg6cukVpha7gF8MYbyCZp1VhUdyGWwj1BkgDCai5jl5NFG_9FQhOR9N3Ily99Ok1vShAWs6_MR32DQ== 1/
@heidilifeldman
I emailed both my senators today to tell them I would not be happy with Schumer.
We need new leaders who are all-in on real progress, such as passing the Medicare For All Act, in addition to ensuring accountability (not just lip-service performative hearings) for the rampant corruption and brutality of the current regime.
Neither Schumer nor Jeffries is up to the task, and my senators and rep heard about it from me today.

I don’t know about 100%, but I get the feeling a lot of it is vibe coded.
You can check the code frequency and contributors (there is only one, the maintainer).
It's just so wild to me to see otherwise risk-averse engineers run enthusiastically into the biggest vendor-lock-in grift I've ever seen.
LLM-generated code cannot be effectively worked on without LLMs. LLM-generated tickets cannot be effectively triaged without LLMs. LLM-generated documentation is not useful without LLM-based summarization. The duplication, the verbosity, the sheer inanity of extrapolation from the mean. Agentic workflows produce piles and piles of artifacts and processes that cannot be engaged with without the continued use of agents.
I wonder who that serves?
That doesn't surprise me. What surprises me is no one cares. It's fine, we don't have to consider that. If Claude changes that abstraction, it can just just rewrite those hundred multi-assertion, cross-subject tests that don't really convey what the abstraction does. Such coverage! Claude will fix a bug that it added in 5 modules across 3 repos, and it can just fix all the modules in all the repos too.
Surely, Claude wouldn't 100x in cost. Surely, this planet-eating Claude will exist forever exactly as it is in this, the peak of its VC-subsidized hype. Why on earth would you suggest otherwise?
These agents are sold by companies who are burning unfathomable piles of money on compute to make a brute-force algorithm discovered in the sixties look like the future. They are so wildly over-leveraged; orders of magnitude more than any Uber or Amazon market-capturing play ever was. They have more than $3 trillion-with-a-t in take-or-buy data center contracts coming due in 2028 that don't even appear as debt on their balance sheets. They have no hope of ever making a return without massively raising prices. Or being bailed out.
(Or they go bankrupt and crash the economy with them. Signed, an involuntary investor.)
Why would you enthusiastically participate in any of this? Why would you opt into doing this to your systems and the systems of a company who you hope, god willing, can continue to pay you in the future?
I know there is top-down pressure. I know it's now a job requirement to buy into this shit. I promise you, just a little longer. The token-spend minimums are already being replaced by token-spend caps. You don't have to make a bunch of noise pushing back, just stop leaning in.
Please, think of the systems we're all going to be stuck with on the other side.
@hacks4pancakes @lawyersgunsnmoney I know several other people (mostly Asia/Pacific) where the same thing happened this year.
@hacks4pancakes @lawyersgunsnmoney Apparently the US pulled out of a number of postal agreements this last year, which contributed to the delays.

Yeah, that’d be awesome. And a lot of work to get it right, communicate with people etc. If I remember correctly, there’s been efforts for years to get group chats standardized with proper end-to-end-encryption or anything like that… And I’m not aware of any final result.

I've answered about AI involvement in the development of Harmony here https://codeberg.org/fediverse/fediparty/pulls/327#issuecomment-27235791
As for FEPs, I do plan on publishing AP extension proposals, but I'm making sure it federates nicely with other Harmony instances before having everyone implement their own versions.
That way I can say it's not theorized but functional and demonstrably so.
Definitely want to publish the drafts I have, soon, though.
Australians who have hybrid office/WFH arrangements: How do you do telephony? Work-issued mobile? Work-issued computer with soft phone app? BYOD with a work app? BYOD with your personal number? Don’t do voice telephony? Boosts OK.
@futzle I don’t do hybrid/WFH myself but AIUI my colleagues who do it have work-issued phones fully paid for, bills + phone. They can use the phone for personal use, but also the expectation is that number will be able to be given out to customers for direct contact as all the WFHers have customer-facing roles.
iPhanpy is finally back on the App Store!
After struggling for a while with Apple to push an update (which ended up with it getting removed from the store by mistake), it finally got through.
It also brings the latest @phanpy updates, and support for the iPhone Duo!
The AltStore PAL version should be back up tomorrow.

@doesnm @hendrik @fediverse I am not that much against AI but 99.9% of slopware is garbage, and a developer needs to do something extraordinary to prove that their thing is worth my attention.

Yeah the long term upkeep tends to be the biggest problem.
But then again, normal projects have that too. Seen plenty of small projects get worked on like crazy for a few months and the author burns themselves out.
Ai like with most things just speed up the process. Lol

Hi from normals.me. If you can read this, the federation works
This post is written on https://normals.me and delivered to !fediverse@lemmy.world over #ActivityPub, so if you are reading it the basic plumbing works. Now let me explain what is this.
Normals is a forum with communities, threads, and questions with an accepted answer. It is a single instance, not software you can host, and the core is closed for anti-abuse reasons. The federation module will be published separately with implementation notes (FEP-67ff).
What federates today Every community is a Group actor following the Lemmy model (FEP-1b12). Follow @selfhosted@normals.me or any other community from Lemmy, PieFed, Mbin or Mastodon.
Posts and comments go both ways. Replies from your instance appear in the thread on Normals, replies from Normals go back to the origin.
Remote content is labelled with its origin, links back to it, and is never copied. Media loads from the source.
Signed fetches, so it works with instances that require authorized fetch. NodeInfo 2.1 is up.
Policies, in case they matter to you, it has no ads, and no paid reach, and of course no AI training on posts. AI crawlers blocked by default, public mod log with reasons, and no automated removals. Numbers at https://normals.me/transparency so please take a look.
If something from your instance shows up wrong here, or something from here shows up wrong on yours, reply with the URL and I'll fix it. Andy Piper mentioned NodeBB uses the same group model, if anyone runs a NodeBB instance I'd like to test against it, if possible.
I hope we all have fun. Cheers!
If you’ve got a Democratic senator (there’s a pretty good chance of that after Tuesday!), they need to hear from you. Demand an open and transparent process for choosing new leadership: https://act.indivisible.org/sign/tell-democrats-no-schumer-coronation/?source=mastodon
@lorask No, not infighting at all. This is the same fight against corporations and billionaires in control of our political leaders.
Just ten minutes. Ten minutes to enjoy the landslide. Just ten minutes of normal cortisol levels. Ten. Minutes.

It's not vibe-coded and the developer published several FEPs to help others implement same features (e.g. FEP-bebd: Follow Invites)
