IDK even if it was completely vibecoded, who cares? It’s another funnel to bring people into the Fediverse. You don’t need to use it yourself, just be glad that there’s more ways to get people in here. It’s a different design with different UX, there’s always the chance that this will hook people who didn’t enjoy Lemmy/PieFed/Mbin/etc. The more the merrier.

@ai6yr Oooh missed that one during Election Day Jukebox. It would have been perfect!
@fesshole I think you owe your children some ice cream. 😂
@mcc At least on arm64, even Linux can act as a hypervisor, if the kernel is started in EL2 it will install a hypercall handler to provide things like KVM.
When I talk to people - they call the BSDs or (or even Linux) too hard to use. But.
If they ran into the same issue as me - they wouldn't do the things I did, they would have deleted steam and reinstalled. If I was on Windows or Mac - I would have done the same thing.
I have always found this analysis of my usage of system meaning that the system is bad to be very frustrating.
@ceci @fesshole @scarscarin Shit that account is not scrive any more
The Crime and Policing Act, which goes into force on November 6, criminalizes possessing or publishing strangulation or suffocation porn, as well as some types of "close familial relatives" roleplay.

As Quinn says, clearance is clearance.
I'm glad I have a solver that finds the dimensions for the gears to fit (and now includes the clearance for the teeth)
@mastodonmigration Just read Franklin Foer in an article published today in the Atlantic. “When I spoke with Schumer on the phone, the day after the Democrats delivered Trump’s party a once-in-a-generation pummeling, he wanted me to know that “Abdul and I get along.”
@kmck LOL
A really interesting thing just happened to me which I think gives me an example of a thing I think about a lot.
Steam stopped launching. I looked around, it looks like it would start then crash. I figured I could delete it and reinstall but I decided to not do that. I read some logs, found it was opening a cached file then crashing.
I deleted that cache, and steam launched.
Oh, man. Truly the end of an era

NEW: Missouri Voters Just Made It Much Harder for Lawmakers to Overturn Citizen-Led Initiatives
For years, Missouri Republicans worked to undo or restrict voter-approved laws and amendments. In passing Amendment 6, voters have not only protected the ballot initiative process but also dramatically strengthened their power over the legislature.

PSA: It’s journalistic malpractice to quote a tech super PAC claiming a voter mandate because its candidates won “29 of 32” general election races without checking how many of those races were competitive.
(Pictured: Fairshake’s “victory”, where 81% of their money backed candidates who lost)
@blogdiva I think it's a two step process.
The parties tell the president who they want to try to form a government; then the person they chose has to negotiate with all the parties to try and cobble together a coalition.
It's not clear to me that the Palestinian parties are actually in the coalition yet, or if they'll even be allowed in.
@evan they are. they chose not to discuss leadership positions on purpose. go read the articles. what The List are doing is truly, like we say en español, una catédra de negociación política. i’ve read and taught (when a history teacher) about the millenia old non-negotiation negotiation tactics of arabs ―most commonly seen when haggling prices― but i’ve never seen it during a government building process and with the context of USA politics. truly a master class.
@grishund.bsky.social Eftersom alla gör julmust från extraktet i Örebro så är man ju bunden till det och många späder säkert ut så mycket de kan för att spara pengar. Men det blir verkligen inte gott om man späder ut för mycket.
@doktorzjivago @grishund.bsky.social Alla? Görs all must på ett och samma extrakt!?

I've re-written this post four times, because I can't work out how to say the thing I want to say. I've given up and I'm just going to ramble until I think I'm done.
While learning #Blender sometimes I'd get stuck with a particular aspect of the project I'm working on. When this happens, I’d look for some kind of guide or tutorial by searching for "(thing I'm having trouble with) Blender Tutorial". I found this sometimes limited my progress, because often the "thing I'm having trouble with" is actually unrelated to Blender entirely.
With Blender you're often able to apply the skills and knowledge from disciplines you have learned in the real world. If you have some experience in Film or Television, then you have a head start in knowing how to frame a camera and properly light a scene. If you have experience in architecture, you might have a much easier time when designing a house or building in a Blender scene. If you have a background in animation, a lot of the animating tools will make sense to you. If you can code, then the nodes system might be easier for you than it is for me.
So when you're stuck, try looking up a guide on the discipline without specifically looking for a "Blender Tutorial" on that subject. If you're struggling with animation, look up "How to Animate" or "The 12 Principles of Animation", because that base knowledge will transfer to the tools in Blender.
The things that took me the most time when making my Space Pop music video, which was my first major Blender project, were sculpting a face, and styling hair. I have never done anything with sculpting or hairdressing, but the most helpful learning materials were the ones that were made by sculptors who make physical sculptures, and real-life hairdressers. I lost weeks trying to make hair that didn't look awful. Actually, that probably had more to do with the particle simulation system than my inexperience with hair-dressing, but they both played a part!
Because once you have the hang of basic 3d modelling, you end up being drawn into these simulation systems. They promise to make things easier. Want a field of grass where every blade waves slightly in the breeze? Well, you can hand place each piece of grass in the field, and then animate each one by hand - or you can use a particle simulation to scatter the grass across the whole field in one step, and then simulate a breeze blowing them all. Well, simulations sound like a great idea!! Unfortunately, it's a whole new level of complexity with confusing attributes and settings, and if you get anything wrong, nothing works. What should have saved you time, ends up costing days of banging your head on a wall. Perhaps hand placement and individual animation of each blade wan't so bad after all...
I recommend learning Blender. It's amazingly powerful, and completely free. Be warned though, it has a reputation for breaking people. If you can persevere though, it's totally worth it.
Ramble ends. 🫶

@dgar Thanks for reminding me to find my list of the principles of animation. It used to be up on my wall so anything I made would hvae an influence...
@brunogirin I’m guessing you saw this linked post? https://blog.infected.systems/posts/2025-10-14-the-five-megabyte-nas/
Goes into much more detail about how I use SSHFS so worth pointing out just in case you hadn’t seen it
