heads up: there's been a major recall of condoms across multiple brands, due to risk of tearing; this includes some brands that show up at sex shops, such as joydivision, so it's not just stuff bought online
this is the list of those recalled in the netherlands: https://www.productwaarschuwing.nl/2026/11/belangrijke-veiligheidswaarschuwing-condooms-diverse-merken/ -- I am not sure if the list is bigger elsewhere (apparently the warning originates from france) but I couldn't find another source with an equally easy-to-read table
notably the problem was with a *supplier*, not a specific brand, so quite a few different brands are affected and the recall may be further extended in the near future

A tiny class of politically engaged people watch these swings & say, "oh, everyone agrees with my side!" Then next election, "oops, everyone agrees with the other side!" But the basic condition of the electorate is angry ignorance, not any consistent ideology. It's flailing all the way down.
The very basic root model of politics that politically engaged people, pundits & pols alike, cling to -- "listen to voters, do what they want, they will reward you" -- is broken. It's a mirage. No one knows how to cut through or diminish the miasmatic discontent. "Results" don't seem to do it.

Just upgraded my personal instance to v5.0.0-beta.1.
For the most part, I think the new layout is okay but not great. I really dislike the forced horizontal scrolling when clicking on a post to view when using the advanced web interface. I think some of that could be negated if the search field and instance information didn't have its own dedicated column.
The search field *ought* to be in the first column and the server information could be an icon link that opens a modal.
