@cdarwin @nocto @plutarch I am filing this reply away as a cautionary warning in case I ever release a genie from a bottle. 💀

Coin-op is a subject that most technology and entertainment historians hardly acknowledge as legitimate.

And yet, sometimes coin-op machines make an impact on culture.

This is Auto Test, the electro-mechanical driving simulator that challenged a "real" industry.

so here's my third attempt at finding something to play from the itch.io new queue

yes, it's like 99% genAI slop on there and 0.9% non-genAI slop porn

this game apparently takes place in a hotel that's made out of wet cardboard

I'm the dev here if anyone has any questions, I was waiting till it was in a more finalized state to announce it. Also full transparency since this community is a little more sensitive on it, this project has been agentically built over the course of the last 1-2 years, but I am a SWE in my day job.

I'm sure most people here would be more curious about the ActivityPub -> atproto bridge, I call this Tidepool code is here: https://tangled.org/bretton.dev/tidepool

I'm planning full Lemmy / Piefed / Pylova federation, the goal is not only to be read only here! Ex my comment is from Coves! Communities themselves aren't being federated yet though.

OP I'd love to know what was spamming you, I can help tackle that we don't have many users and signups are disabled, but I do have some automated bot posts running but those shouldn't be federating yet.

The thing about Rust UI frameworks is that the community LOVES creating UI frameworks but hates finishing them. I've seen so many "adequate" Rust UIs and grope to locate one which I would describe as "Macintosh Quality"

(Though based on what the Macintosh users have been saying about the last few releases, this may be an outdated term)

@malte regional trains. Or FlixBus

Seems reasonable.

@SidFudd let’s just say I have comments on the laser safety protocols of that lab

What “this” are you referring to? The community? The mod list is on the sidebar. I assume that info federates to piefed.

@cwebber I miss OpenBox

Anyway Discord is claiming they've got a long-simmering Rust rewrite of their client that replaces React Native with a "fully native" client. Anyone know what Rust UI framework they're actually using here, or if they wrote their own?

@glyph @phildini @hynek Five states (Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Arizona) gained a Democrat majority in both houses of their legislatures and in their governor's offices, and those five states together have enough electoral votes to push the National Popular Vote effort over the line. https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Voters-in-5-states-create-path-for-fixing-the-Electoral-College-in-2027.html?soid=1116971938310&aid=aRtQZbZ1HSA

In fact any one of Nevada, Arizona, or Wisconsin could fail to pass it and the other four states would still be enough.

@alisynthesis

Thanks for your understanding.

I really hate all of the party fighting. I, myself have views from all over the spectrum, and I like to wishful-think of America as a big melting pot of tolerance--although I know that that is very far from the truth. 🙂

Here's to hoping! 😃

Plz don’t cancel me I have 3 cats to feed
