NO TO SCHUMER
Don't believe anything you read about the inevitability of Chuck Schumer becoming Majority Leader.
You may have seen this before, but here is an analysis of Schumer support from back in August of a potential whip count for the 2027 Senate assuming the Dems won a bunch of seats. And they won even more! [The detail is in the subsequent reply.]
Chuck Schumer does not have the votes to become Majority leader.

Will update this analysis when the dust settles.
@jalefkowit okay the rest is very good and paints a vivid picture BUT ALSO Gamgerate is a very funny typo
Hmm, apparently the millions spent on media blitzing against the billionaire's tax managed to tilt votes against it. FUD works? Or do all those folks think they, someday, will be billionaires? 🤔
@ai6yr The messaging (which worked quite well on most of the folks in my household) that the bill was written so that they could lower the threshold at any time and tax non-billionaire's 401(k)s, the value of their home, etc etc. Which, to me, is ridiculous but I can understand the fear especially when you either have already retired or are going to soon. It's a worthwhile loophole to close/shore up next time they put it on the ballot.

@cwebber rage, rage against the dying of the light
Trump calling Elon today to ask him why he didn’t use his satellite hacking rays to prevent this.
@mattblaze he was busy trying to make sure that the space lasers that Marjorie Taylor Greene rants about where in proper geosynchronous orbit.

@coolboymew you did it?
i'm getting a pile of this comment on youtube with almost the same wording on each one
> I don't necessarily have a problem with Tuta's way. It depends how they use AI. If they use AI to scan the code to find vulnerabilities then that's fine because if Tuta doesn't do it then hackers will find them. Using AI as a tool is fine in my opinion but using AI as an entire coworker and letting it write your code is not
i wonder what it could be. surely they're completely unrelated
@davidgerard Interesting. I think almost exactly the same comments were made here or on your blog.
Coincidence, I'm sure.

I'm happy for my US friends who will sleep more soundly tonight than they have in a long time. I hope that when the celebrations are over, you continue to demand the representation and support that you are entitled to, and that that leads to positive outcomes for you and your nation <3
