@Bowreality @tantramar I do a lot of what I refer to as 2D work, as in browser work, spreadsheets, word docs, some image manipulation and terminal work. I use generic Debian Linux with Gnome desktop and have zero friction for my everyday work. I came from a Windows environment previously. Apple always felt too cloistered for me.

The IBM WebSphere is mean at me for some reason. Oh well.

I guess that's all for Novell Netware 5 tour today, I'm so tired (broken arm makes everything difficult).

So, TIL: Novell Netware 5 wasn't just a server, it was a full OS on top of Caldera DOS, with X11 port, and a desktop with Java. There's Perl and Basic out of the box. More than you get on a modern mobile device lol

or do I just say if you're not on spy-cards.lubar.me you can't log in?

@PhoenixSerenity
They expected me to pay for the travel and all my equipment. I don't care if I'm crashing in someone's house on their couch, I'm not asking for premium accommodations or a huge fee. I just can't afford to pay for my own travel and food. We can't ride the rails anymore, people.

This has been an intermittent problem for months, growing steadily worse. Not even Bookwire (Ingram) can get a straight answer out of Amazon—in some cases, the ‘Zon (if responding at all) flat-out and demonstrably lies saying it’s price-matching to a different distribution platform.

My beloved fellow indie authors, if you do a scheduled price drop (especially through a third-party aggregator), be sure to check Amazon listings after the sale ends.

For some reason (greed or slopcode, who knows?) Amazon may refuse to list your book at its proper price afterward.

@verge It's not a coal-burning power plant, it's a combustion campus!

“Not valuing the goose so the goose goes looking for a place to be valued” should be at the top of any security audit checklist, but of course it never is.

@lowqualityfacts The sad thing is that tons of books were written explaining that wasn't true.

@neil oh, that is similar to Mr Scam Likely, who calls me a lot from different numbers all the time.

@rcsalas 👏

is there a "best practice" for account systems for godot games?

it's an existing username/password one but everything is controlled by me and all of the accounts that exist right now were created by hand by me

We received over 600 fascinating applications with an incredible diversity of ideas and applicants. The response was so overwhelming that we're starting with three residents instead of the two we planned for!

Estoy empezando a ver cada vez más artículos en medios generalistas sobre ordenadores cuánticos y casi me atrevería a afirmar que eso dice más del inminente estallido de la burbuja de la IA que las gráficas de las cotizaciones en bolsa.

Every time I try a new browser because the old browser was run by horrible people I find the new browser is also run by horrible people. I'm running out of browsers. I worry browser are big and complicated enough these days that they will always be run by horrible people. Feels like I need to find the browser run by the least horrible people.
