It arrived too late for Halloween, but never mind!
It should be clear by now that almost all of these 'techbros' are sociopathic or psychopathic freaks who must be kept out of power by any means necessary, must not be allowed to influence the future development of society, and must be pushed to the absolute margins of society. They are bad people who do wrong, and every emancipated movement of the 21st century must be directed against them.

Happy Election Day! VOTE! 🇺🇸✅
@Morgan Where would you classify performance art as a hobby i.e. community theater?
@srol I guess a physical art? Unless you do musicals more often, then probably music
If you sit there and don't say anything it's like he's still here, so sit there and be quiet. My family at my twin brother's funeral. That's why I ghosted them all dobbed some members in for benefit fraud.
Root-based remote attestation of client devices against the user's interests should simply be illegal in any liberal democracy, just like how selling user data without consent or exfiltrating user data to hostile foreign countries is. There is legitimate use for this technology for the user to attest a server, or for one of your devices to verify the other (as e.g. GrapheneOS allows you to do), but this kind of use of the tech must stop.

If some other event where I could pitch that comes your way ping me.
@me_valentijn @Nerde Wait, is that Lulu?
@mattblaze @Nerde
Yup, Lulu Friesdat. Track record of election conspiracy theories, apparently, including involving a culty poltical party known for lots of whacky stuff, the LaRouche Movement.
But you probably know far more about her shenanigans than I do 😂
If the web were (re-)invented in 2026, I bet every website would just restrict which browser you can use to access their site for "security" with remote attestation (because, I guess, Servo doesn't support secure secrets storage, or something). That's not a world we should have to live in.
these are all supposed to be owls (don't sleep on my alt text)
@Rania @simon_brooke @apenkop the british empire is to blame for instigating this tragedy.
Without the Third Reich, and subsequently "our" Bundesrepublik Deutschland, the sick belief wouldn't exist that one could wash off Jewish blood from one's hands with Palestinian blood.
We've learned nothing, and refuse to learn, even in the face of another genocide.
those who feel strongly about having more daylight in the *morning*, and those who feel strongly about having more daylight in the *evening*, are not seeing the real solution: shorter work days. less production. more sleep. more kissing.

So, Novell Netware 5 is an absolutely cursed operating system. As far as I can tell, it boots Caldera DOS as a stage-0, then goes into NWSERVER kernel that uses its own everything, and from there boots a JAVA shell, and from there there's an init also presumably in Java, that starts binaries for X-for-NW, IceWM-for-NW and, if I were to believe Novell's docs, a Java-based desktop. It definitely looks and feels like Java.
Java OS that I did not know existed
it's one of those times of year when there is drama in the timezone fandom
@hrefna how’d you feel about it?
@0x09 Eh. Mostly old 😜
It's one of my less preferred honorifics—I dislike it somewhat and I prefer Miss—but it's not misgendering and more of a sociocultural preference that doesn't tie into being trans (i.e., I'd probably still have this preference if I were cis).
I’ve survived a lot of Florida hurricanes, but this is the first time floodwaters have trapped me in the house. The water levels aren’t budging because it rained for a week and the ground is so saturated that there’s nowhere for the water to go. I have food for maybe 3 days.
