you don't need to do something every day for it to count! you don't need to reach any special threshold for it to count! just find some time to learn a new skill any time in November, and you've won in the only way that will ever matter!
@danieldk @Schouten_B It's hardly an independent organization. That's similar to claiming BBC is not state media. A state funded and controlled organization is part of the state.
NLnet is also heavily government funded by the Netherlands and EU. It's providing many millions of euros in funding to /e/. /e/ is one of the main origins attacks on GrapheneOS especially efforts to mislead people about what it provides and convince people it's not for regular people but rather criminals.
@GrapheneOS @danieldk The SIDN fund is not funded by the state but rather by the proceeds of SIDN. It also has an independent board from SIDN.
We just sent out the list of changes to the HundredRabbits projects for October!
I once worked in a factory making a famous chocolate bar. Hygiene was terrible - mud and even blood would regularly find its way onto the products. Now I'll happily eat food I've dropped on the floor. People think I'm gross, but knowing what I know I can't bring myself to care.
@fesshole no more chocolate for me
I don't know why but I notice, and am annoyed by, certain kinds of phatic communication. Most recently:
"Thanks for being on the show."
"Thanks for having me."
There are so many other ways to do this. Why not mix it up?
This is the least of our problems, obviously. I should just let it go. But once I notice it, I can't unhear.
The worst one for me? "Perfect" as the coda for any retail transaction.
@judell That may be the editor in you? I wholeheartedly share the sentiment.
I don't know what to do without myself now that #drawtober is over.
@neauoire Take all pictures and made comicbook from them.

@SasquatcherGeneral@idlethumbs.social @toolbear@tech.lgbt @alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com welcome to the USA where voting in the general is harm reduction most of the time.
Talarico leaned towards the right on his rhetoric on this one issue.
Paxton moved as far right as he could with his actions.
Which is more harmful?
Also, being an asshole to people over the net does not persuade them at all.
@unsafelyhotboots thanks :)

at this point Kent is a cohost moreso than a guest. I'm travelling this week but sometime this month in your preference of slot (the Tuesday-night-in-the-Americas one is better known) is eminently possible.

@screwlisp my timezone is 12 hours ahead of the us (UTC+8). So late evening for either of us works I guess. 😀
Binance hasn’t REcovered $6B+, it’s COVERING it (reimbursing customers from company funds). Some was frozen, but Binance is not likely to recover even half.
Bad headlines like this are a big part of why I started covering crypto. Generalist reporters on deadline far too often end up repeating company spin.
Super secure, public ledger, that is not controlled by anyone.
Sure, enough, the sovereign, individual ass hats out there in the world pretended that they found an exit from society. Like everything else they fantasize about it just doesn’t work that way. Crypto is neither safe or secure.
@GrapheneOS @danieldk Do you have a concrete section of the document where it does that?
@Schouten_B @danieldk Yes, but we no longer think you're here in good faith and will be blocking you from our instance instead rather than continuing to waste our time on a concern troll.
@intrepidhero Oh yeah. Active flash flood warnings in that whole area. Wonder how they are handling that....
@ai6yr did a little digging. It's 15-20mile course that the runners lap (and lap and lap). There's aid stations every 5 miles. Hopefully that allows them to avoid water crossings and more easily extract people when needed.

As a creator myself, much appreciated. I wish more people would do this.
And folks, if you can’t or don’t want to give someone money, even just clicking the like button or leaving a comment is a great way to help a creator for free.
Making videos is a fun hobby, but lots of work, and I think most people don’t understand the amount of work that goes into it.

![Tweet by Binance @binance Oct 30 Binance has begun [begun highlight] recovering [end highlight] affected assets for users and continues to work with law enforcement, issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and industry partners to trace, freeze and recover additional funds. The company has already publicly committed to cover losses through company funds in the prior announcement. [begin highlight] Binance has already reserved over $6.34B of company funds to cover this incident. [end highlight] $5B of these funds are already held in the exact token assets that were impacted. We are completing the purchase of the remaining amount by buying token assets through market channels and OTC channels. We are doing this to match the format of the remaining token assets and address any asset shortfalls. This step can take longer because some tokens may have low liquidity and OTC settlement also takes time. We will share more progress as soon as we can. These figures do not include frozen or protected assets, which remain subject to ongoing recovery and verification. Currently, $3bn has been frozen, with thanks to our industry partners. We are working with partners and law enforcement to recover the frozen assets. We will continue to use company resources to cover confirmed shortfall and will provide further verified updates as recovery efforts progress.
