I feed crows. We have a platform out back I put peanuts and such on for them.
I also facet have been at it for a few decades. Of course have quite a few stones cut and stashed away. So I have started taking some of the non valuable, mostly glass pieces and place one or two on the platform away from the food. They usually take what is up there but sometime leave green and yellow pieces for a feeding or two.
I do get gifts in return, car keys once blanks from an electrical outlet box and little bits of foil and such are the usual type of gifts. No money or valuable jewelry so far. But I bet there is someone out there that thinks their crows have access to a dragons lair or found an old treasure chest.

When people in the old days named some program, or anything else, they didn't try hard at all. They just called it what it was, like "Word", simply and easily. These days names sound as if someone thought long and hard to show how clever they are. It's tiresome. It's always the shallow ones who go after the unusual in everything and love an odd theory.

alright I think I figured it out, a bunch of fucking bots were crawling my entire peertube instance, including all of the video files, so yeah of course that's gonna chew up a lot of bandwidth. I added 'Disallow: /' to robots.txt on that and hopefully that'll eventually improve things
also the Disallow: / should be the fucking default, not something buried 10 pages down in shitty documentation
anyway thanks to @scanlime I now also have ACLs set up to make it easy to block badly-behaving AI crawlers from hammering my peertube instance as well. hopefully this gets my linode out of alarm status.

@spytfyre You are cracking me up. 😊 Halloween will always be special ever since our UK niece and nephew visited us and had their first American Halloween. (Our first time trick or treating also! we went with friends.) Anyway there was my nearly 3 year old nephew AMAZED that in America you go up to strangers homes and they give you LOTS AND LOTS of candy. Especially if you are a curly headed little boy with an accent. <g> He made out like a bandit.
