@chris@nutmeg.social I think that’s what makes this story both more insane AND confusion. Had no clue that the market of vscode forks (put simple) extensions usage is LARGER than your ordinary programmers vscode
@jalict Yeah Open VSX was predominantly used by vscodium and I guess Eclipse as it's an Eclipse Foundation project. I'd published my open-source VS Code extension there for the 5 people on vscodium. I never considered that Cursor also grabs its extensions from Open VSX. Wild to see an Open VSX extension with 60 million downloads.

Yeah fuck it. #ShorDurPerSav
@boogerly Screw you, Cobra. United Underworld was taking over the world when you were still an evil toddler!
There are people on Bluesky whose entire schtick appears to be logging in once a day and posting "the president of the United States is a liar" or "and now back to the Epstein Files," and while I don't disagree with those sentiments I do wonder what they think they're accomplishing

We do it for the passion of game dev ❤️ I love the concept of open source game devs, who work day in/day out to make other people's lives easier and thats why I sponsored this game jam. Please join the Discord and participate!
Without KAPLAY, there would be no @frax

heh, well... I guess, not surprising at all. It's a supply chain attack but also, the amount of lack of knowledge of wtf is happening beneath the surface going on at Anthropic and at plenty of places like it... I wonder if this is just the tip of the iceberg
EDIT: Anthropic claims the vulnerability happened at/with Cursor, not them
@cwebber Plenty of sensible people saw this coming a mile away but vibe coders just stuck their fingers in their ears. Unfortunately it affects those of us who have been shouting too. I hate it here.
🚨 Time for #fridaygeotrivia !!!🚨
This month's question: What is the longest chain of countries such that each country borders the next and the common English names alternate starting with a vowel and a consonant?
For example: Colomba 🇨🇴 -> Ecuador 🇪🇨 -> Peru 🇵🇪 is a chain of three.
As always:
• Only one answer per toot
• You must include the hashtag #fridaygeotrivia and the emoji flag of the countries
1/
Spain 🇪🇸 -> Andorra 🇦🇩 -> France 🇫🇷 -> Italy 🇮🇹 -> Switzerland 🇨🇭 -> Austria 🇦🇹 -> Germany 🇩🇪
@GossiTheDog with a logo like that, are people really surprised about a backdoor?
As the #Fediverse grows, the stress on the admins of the assorted instances grows as well.
So I am curious: What do Fediverse admins wish for that might reduce their stress and workload?
I played Dirty Secrets last night and had hella fun.
Our investigator felt like he stalled out about halfway through - allowing the rest of the table to go incredibly hard. He spent four scenes trying to report the crime to the police and getting stonewalled, beaten up, and dealing with broken systems.
One of the hard parts was getting everyone to push agenda and narrate. Things like "ok - I want a scene about finding out who the license plate belongs to" and trying to turn that into "what's the scene where you track down the person who the license plate belongs to".
The fact we don't control who did the actual crime meant that the actual criminal which orchestrated everything was the police officer - not the women who the investigator suspected.
So I'm trying to upgrade nixpkgs on Luggage, because Forgejo threw me a HTTP 500 when trying to open a pull request, and figured I'll upgrade it to 17.0.1 now that said version is in nixpkgs 26.05.
But that also updates a whole lot of other packages, including paperless-ngx, with depends on fpdf2, which has a failing test due to a reference file missing an update to pillow 0.13.
So now I'm trying to work it around by disabling that particular test, and see if passes, just so I can try the newest Forgejo release to see if that fixes the HTTP 500.
Computers were a mistake.
There is nothing sexy about John Major, I'm not gay either. But I'd probably look at naked photos of him if I was offered a chance.
@anon_opin curiouser and curiouser
His face and bloody hand appear in the bodycam video that Auburn PD released. The bodycam fell off.
While another officer is handling it, the camera is pointing straight at him.
