A before-dawn walk around a lake in a community, with gorgeous tree color, and the leaves probably about halfway down. The sky is blue, but the sun is not yet breaking over the mountain to the east.

The other end of the lake about 20 minutes later, with more light but still no direct sunlight. The water is rippled (many, many Canadian geese) and the near bank has some skinny maples and other trees, mostly red and very thin in leaf cover. Across the water on the other bank is a vivid maple tree of my favorite variety - its red/orange on top, and fades through orange and yellow and is still green in some spots. Many of the other trees are in fall glory as well. It was a beautiful morning.
