@stefano I am always amazed at how much you accomplish, but seeing all these projects you're running, I feel compelled to ask:
have you ever considered decaf?
Mate was getting married abroad in Cyprus. I was so confident that he wouldn't go through with it, that I didn't bother to pack my suit. He didn't go through with it.
Disaster Society band rehearsal today! We're working on a set of all-new, all-original material for a special live performance we've got lined up for early next year. So much work to do, and it will be upon us before we know it!
How is music showing up in your Sunday?

@verge The future of TV is apps!
Today's challenge.
I just published the first release candidate of PASTA/80 1.0, my Turbo Pascal 3.0 compatible cross compiler for classic and modern Z80 machines: CP/M, ZX Spectrum 48K/128K/Next and Agon.
New since July: faster for loops, easier command-line syntax, optimization and overlays out of the box, better type checking, and runtime error checks for math and I/O. Feedback welcome!

Windows 11 is failing as an operating system
I would love to see a similar show, with the following alterations:
- wider asiles
- bigger booths (8x10 is attractive to organizers, but it's too tight. 10x10 or bust)
- either a real DJ playing a themed set or at least some basic thought and respect put into the music choices
- a slideshow or video real on the projectors showcasing the artists in the room, or literally anything other than slop visualizers.
- an MC who knows how to MC! And maybe even has notes about the important details written down, instead of just shouting corrections over and over again into an uncaring room.
And, personally, I want all of the above plus a focus on independent artists and creators in every panel. We don't need four star wars fans sitting in the center of a stage congratulating one another about how much star wars they know. There were at least 8 comic artists in the room, let them talk about their work, their process, their fans, etc.
I think it's great that a bunch of power rangers associated folks came to the show, and I appreciated the power rangers panel, but I'd have been way more excited to hear from the power rangers vfx guy about his latest indie production, to talk to the power rangers comic artist about his creator owned series, to get up on stage myself and talk about making television.
Anything other than "the next 50 years of Star Wars".
What I want, what I keep wanting, is just comicon without corporate IP.
Gimmie local bands on the PA (bring em in and let 'em play live!), interviews and panels with the creators in the room, OC cosplay contests. If you're going to do a small town comicon, make it a celebration of local and independent culture.
I'd have been way less disappointed in the turnout if the Kumiai-ki trailer, or an exceprt from the upcoming spacehawk or Jupiter's Ghost cartoon was on the video rotation, and I got to hear from all of these indie artists talking about their work.
I'd have been way less disappointed in the turnout if more of the event seemed like community building, rather than a (pardon my lewd analogy) Walt Disney themed circle jerk.

@sknob @ozzelot @bazkie @keefmarshall @vbabka fun! it’s been a while since i’ve seen it (hence the uncertain memory) but it’s a weird and wonderful bit of animation that i feel is underappreciated which was why i had to ask 😁
@brhfl @ozzelot @bazkie @keefmarshall @vbabka I played it a lot for my kids (hehe), and it really has some incredible music and songwriting, and the story is great.
i am trying to make my own linux distro and well... i'm kinda the only one working on it
if anyone could volunteer as a tester, as a package maintainer, help me fine tune the lower details or give advice on what they think a system focused on ethics and efficient should be, i would be happy!

@vga256 It’s still better, so long as you don’t live in the Peace River valley, I guess. My new riding stayed NDP so I’m happy with that, especially since I wasn’t eligible to vote given the 6 month cooling off period.
@owainski we're planning for the island, but still ironing out which community.
we had considered the prince george region, but i've watched a lot of previously decades-long left-wing ridings turn conservative over the years and it's a lot less palatable now than ever.
I was surprised by the most amazing pop-up vaudeville act when I opened the back curtains this morning! #quorb
