Because the Marxist version of liberals still call themselves liberals and have intentionally erased the semantic existence of all ideologies left of them so that they can pretend to be the left.

@multed Прекрасно, но вопрос - с плагинами там чо. Nextcloud славен расширяемостью.

12yo's homework asked if the family had WWII stories. So, I finally read my grandfather's memoir. I'd put it off for many years. I didn't want to look into that darkness, but having read it, all I have to say is, he was a profoundly kind man in a profoundly horrible time, & I'm proud to be his kin.

Thanks! Not sure actually ... this morning I was getting 503 Service Unavailable from ppa.launchpadcontent.net/ondrej when doing apt update or apt upgrade, so worked around it for the time being. I'll check back when I get a chance.

I thought 6 7 was 6 7 for Millennials.

Ooohhh ooohhh oohh re: the heaven comment, is this the episode where they all drink the “special” kool aide/flavor aide to get to heaven ??? See the jonestown cult wiki for how that worked out lol.

Ah shoot you beat me to it

Leftists often call them liberal because many of them use the term to define one who believes in Liberalism.

“Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on the rights of the individual, liberty, consent of the governed, political equality, right to private property, and equality before the law.”

Thus anyone who is liberal believes in the right to private property. MAGA strongly believes in such. No leftist believes in such. Thus in their use, a leftist cannot be a liberal.

It’s just a different usage of a term based on cultural differences.

It isn’t that surprising but it is somewhat surprising.

@computerchronicles All these militia wannabe asswipes showing up here in Texas to discover -- there's nothing. There's no invasion, no caravans, no "cartel narco-terrorists." They were lied to. But they never learn or change.

@lightspill Still, the work put in is worth thanking you for.

BC Conservative Sheldon Clare claimed residential schools created “opportunities” for Indigenous children and challenged the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s findings.

In September, he wrote that “there’s a good number that need hanging” in a group chat. #bcpoli #cdnpoli

@jwz I am also feeling very normal today. this is one of those days that being an insane person who is running my own protocol stack all the way down from OpenSSL feels pretty good though

@tchambers Who said that?

Ooooh, will there be Flavor Aid?

Nah it’s a leftist thing.

Liberals are centrists who maintain the status quo and at best ask for “reforms” without substantially wanting to change the underlying system.

They think improvements like ranked choice voting would make capitalism magically end poverty and inequality. That if a few more people benefit from social programs, that you can overlook the others still suffering because it’s “better”.

You can just stop caring about the border. It doesn't fucking matter. Let people come here if they want. Make them citizens. Let them vote. It's a fake issue. If someone brings it up, you say, "Fuck you, you fucking racist." It's nothing but a seed for fascism.
