Houston is enjoying significantly cooler temperatures this morning, in the 50s, with lower humidity. November-like weather should now persist for awhile across the region. The biggest question is whether the atmosphere will line up to support rain this weekend, or not.
This is part of Talarico's speech last night, and it emphasizes what I would like to see more of. I'm exhausted by the nastiest and vengeful bullshit that the Trump administration exemplifies:

Spéciale cacedédi à ce « collègue » d’hg qui s’était répandu à plusieurs reprises en propos degueulasses jusqu’à comparer en classe une photo de rappeur afro-américain à un animal (même pas envie de dire lequel tellement c’est degueulasse).
Par ailleurs il mettait ses filles à lui dans le privé hors contrat pour « qu’elles deviennent pas lesbiennes » (SIC)

Donc c’est pas du tout un hasard ni une fatalité.
Par exemple dans l’éducation nationale evidemment qu’il y a des racistes. Y en a même plein (bon, ils sont convaincus de pas l’être, souvent mdr).
La raison pour laquelle les profs traitent pas les élèves de n… ou de b…, des mots comme ça, ouvertement, en public, dans le cadre de leurs fonctions, c’est que s’ils le font c’est réprobation totale, première occurrence avertissement, deuxième c’est blâme avec mutation voire mise à pied.
C’est bien une histoire de culture professionnelle.

In Missouri in 2024 WE voted for MO Constitutional Amendment 3: the Right to Reproductive Freedom.
And yet it was mostly Republicans that got elected that election, too. So of course they were like "erm, maybe we'll ignore that".
So it was on the ballot again this year - repeal the amendment? Now with additional transphobia baked in, as if that would sway people to change their minds.
The vote to APPEAL the Right to Reproductive Freedom was REJECTED.

@tapbots Pressing spacebar when a video is open in it’s own window closes it in Ivory. I would expect play/pause when looking at a video.
I get the logic: spacebar is also a pageup (shift+spacebar is pagedown). However, you can close the video window with escape, so there is really no need for the spacebar to close the window.
@doekman Videos and photos are using the same media viewer and we adopted the quick-look paradigm to quickly be able to show and hide the window.

@RickiTarr I'm just happy that a blue Congress may be able to dial down the chaos for the next couple of years. I'd like to see them pass some popular legislation like Medicare for All and campaign finance reform and watch the President veto them, setting up the Republicans for another bloodbath in 2028.
