@pikesley FACT: Mealy-mouthed Cobblers are critically endangered nowadays after decades of overfishing and the use of their spleens to make handbags.
@Floppy @pikesley Actually, your should know that a mealy-mouthed cobbler is an unfashionable west country pudding made primarily from meal worms, dried fruit and suet. This was eaten in the 1,800's, but it was just as unpleasant back then and nobody liked eating it. It was improved with lots of custard.
wait functions in bash are technically just bash scripts inside bash scripts
I'm a commissioning editor and I'm up to the tits in AI-written submissions. They absolutely reek of laziness and stupidity. What's the point of wanting to be a writer but finding writing to be an inconvenience? I delete every one of them.
I have followed david since the inception of pivot-to-ai.com.
Excellent book on the history of bicoin.
Bitcoin, blockchains, Ethereum and smart contracts — what these ideas are, why they don’t work in practice, and the sort of people attracted to them.

I love this: @Bonfire to shape your own connected community space. We're setting up the #DTF's space with their toolkit, now learning about the many possibilities we can shape to our own needs. Groups, members-only or public, decision making, events, ... DTF members get an account automatically so we can learn and shape this together. Thanks, Bonfire team.
Do you need clips of snow leopards cuddling? Yes. Yes, you do :3

thread. lol.
@neil ah thank you, that giggle-moment was very welcome. Was also just thinking about you, just remembered my crocs :)
Programming isn’t for girls, they told me, and I didn’t care. Programming isn’t for humans, they tell me, and do you think I fucking care?
A couple of minutes ago, I renamed a trait, and all uses of it, across a handful of files, using a simple sequence of: SPC c r Alt Backspace Roleplay RET. It updated the trait name, and all uses of it across all files where it was used.
No tokens were burned, and the entire operation took less than a second after pressing RET, because Emacs & LSP are so much better than LLMs for this purpose in every concievable way, except rent seeking.
Two still-life style table clutters with houseplants, one "enhanced" one not...
And here is the one with the bricks. No squiggle worm artifacting. Still low resolution. (I'll do this again with a real camera another day.)
BTW: I am not just singling out losses in this thread. I’m posting about all competitive races where crypto and AI PACs spent on the general.
It’s just that they are getting wrecked across the board so far. Out of 8 that have been called, only CO-8 went their way: a fairly low-$ outlay on a Dem.
I miss physical magazines that are interesting. Video game magazines, the D-Photo photography magazine.
Just. Interesting magazines.
Maybe I should make my own.
@aurynn same! I recently subscribed to a magazine only for them to announce that the current issue would be the last print issue 😞 . But I did just get the first issue of https://www.continuemagazine.com/ which may be relevant to your interests. I've also been enjoying https://theslowpress.net/ for a few months. But also, you should definitely make your own!
I see ketamine consumption spike today.
