I’d do this if he wasn’t one of my favorite creators doing a lot of good for the Fediverse by publishing his content there.

Yes according to some people, but what apps do you use to not have the issue?
Because I’m mostly on the Fediverse on my mobile phone…

Ah, that's where I can't help I guess, as someone who doesn't use mobile apps.

Because lots of us appreciate them! I have a psp now because of one of your articles.

To me, cross-posting your own posts is a sign of an overinflated sense of self-importance.
When I see a comment like yours, I just wonder why I bother sharing my articles here.

At least with PieFed and Intestellar, I was seeing the duplicates the same way as on Lemmy/Voyager.
Holy shit.
This guy takes a couple of minutes of audio from a security camera anywhere in the US, with no clues from the video whatsoever, and finds the exact spot where it was recorded.
How?
By correlating the Doppler curve sounds from two almost inaudible planes passing by with public ADS-B flight data.

I think this is the #OSINT video of the year.
YouTube
In the UK the police record the hum from the electrical grid and have used it in court to prosecute criminals.

I discovered a sound that leaks your exact location (and it's everywhere) - https://simonwillison.net/2026/Nov/3/a-sound-that-leaks-your-exact-location/ "Genius piece of #OSINT by Colsto, who demonstrates how you can take almost imperceptible background noise of planes from a video soundtrack, figure out their Doppler curves, then cross reference them against ADS-B data to find the exact location of the video based on their speed, distance, and gaps between different flights." #whoa

I'm really surprised about how helpless people are some times, I often don't know what to do when I help people either, I just push buttons that seems likely, or open and close things on printers until they start working as well. I think people could do so much more, if they just dared trying.
...but but @sotolf that might invalidate the warranty 🤪

@evan is this for real Evan? Because I only have two days but I’m with it.
@ErickaSimone @evan Yeah its legit! If you need a developer to partner with, let me know!
With Pixelfed and Loops, there are a lot of possibilities.

I might have to switch to Piefed from mbin. Both are far better than Lemmy imo, but piefed is starting to leave mbin in the dust too. I keep hearing of ways piefed just does things better.
It’s worth a try!
Sorry, the app encountered an unexpected error
